Pokemon School - Water Pokemon Assignment!

Today in Pokemon School, there has been an assignment for the classes! Everyone gets to go out on the Ride Pokemon onto the ocean. It's a simple little all day assignment where we get to socialize with people young and old across the classes.

Dressed in clothing suited for actual swimming as well as being on the water, Misty and Professor Kukui are heading up this lesson with Misty's best friend and semi-TA for this lesson Lana!

"All right class, everyone ready? We're going to head out on the Ride Pokemon, so let's get set! Everyone got your fishing poles? We're going to head out to Lana's fishing spot, which is out on the open ocean! It's going to be a beautiful day today, and then we'll head to the site of the Totem Pokemon, Wishiwashi. It'll be a fun day, so please everyone get ready to learn about Water Pokemon!

Ellen let out a relaxing sigh as she fishes off the side of her Ride Pokémon, enjoying the quietness of it all. With the slight hecticness of the past few weeks, it was actually quite calming.

And who knew - she might catch a Pokémon or two!

Lillie was there with the class, and she was casting her line nearby when she scooted over. "Water Pokemon biting?" she asked curiously.

"Koo!" Exclaimed Snowball cheerfully at Ellen.

"At least somebody's enjoying this."

Fishing is so, so, so boring.

He'd rather battle something!!

Kaiba is amenable to a new lesson. He's content to drift along the ocean, occasionally tossing a line. Oh, there's a bite! He eagerly reels it in, pulling the rod up to reveal...

Another tire. Sigh. He adds it to the little trash barge he's towing along. He hasn't caught any Pokémon yet, but he's sure keeping the waters clean.

Zuzu is having better luck, having reeled in a Luvdisc which shone in the morning light. Her rotom took a picture of it before she released it to the wild before she pulled her Lapras towards Kaiba.

"Having any luck?" she asked curiously, noting the trash bin behind him.

Whoa, another one.

"... I hope nobody crashed their car into the ocean."

That's way too many tires in one day.

Peter's not sure how much he likes this. On land there's lots of things he can do to escape a bad situation with his webs if he needed to. Out at sea? His options have become extremely limited. It's not like he can't swim and sharks aren't even anything he has to worry about-not like great whites and whatnot, anyway.

It's just fishing and he's using his powers to make sure he stays stuck to the lapras he's sitting on so he's not going anywhere. His senses have decided to somewhat work today as they're very, very aware of anything gets near him. Such as any pokemon that swims under Lapras and it's making him a bit jumpy.

He manages to calm down a little up until something bigger decides to swim closer and his senses scream at him to move and he's getting ready to do just that when something orange shoots up out of the water and knocks right into him, knocking him clean into the water with a splash.

"Shit! It's cold!" are the first words out of his mouth upon resurfacing and wow does salt water states disgusting.

"It's not too bad right now," said Misty, their teacher as she held out a hand. "Back in Kanto, it would be too cold to swim in the ocean and rivers right now since it's Fall. Some regions of Kanto is actually snow all year around since it's the mountains."

"Duck!" Exclaimed Psyduck, the waterfowl sitting on the Lapras's head.

Trip looked immensely grumpy and felt like a fashion-blind, tacky tourist, but his usual ensemble was too hot for the weather and he wasn't going to get any nice clothes drenched in sea-water, so it's swimming shorts and a tacky tourist trap-looking shirt he wouldn't mind ruining, but his pride still took a hit.

It was orange in a much more eye-searing way than his usual jacket—the darker swimming shorts did absolutely nothing to offset the day-glo sunset and Toucannon print.

"How's everything here?" asked Misty, coming up on her Lapras as she and her Psyduck were teaching the class. "Catch anything neat?"

Despite being dressed for the water, Bridge couldn't help eyeing the Pokemon's harness uncertainly.

"Does fishing have to be out in the water? Can't we go fishing for Pokemon on a dock or something?"

"For this exercise, we do have to be out on Ride Pokemon," replied Misty. "It's perfectly safe and you have a selection of Ride Pokemon to choose from."

It was true, there were several Ride Pokemon with huge seats with plenty of room to sit on.

Sena's out on his own Ride Pokemon, and Yan seems to be his chosen partner for this lesson's exercise. Since she can fly, she seems to be scouting around for any activity on the water's surface...but knowing her personality, she's probably just enjoying herself. Sena himself turns to the closest person he can speak to, a question occurring to him.

"So this Totem Pokemon...what's special about it, anyway?"

He keeps hearing about it, but what makes a Totem Wishiwashi different from a regular one...?

"Ah, you might want to find out for yourself, but Wishiwashi are strong and mysterious things," said Lana with a wink of an eye. She was casting her line into the water as Primarina was sunning herself on the rocks.

"This is where I got my Z-Crystal after all. It's an important place for me."

SO MYSTERIOUS.

"Are we really going to see Wishiwashi?" he asked.

It was the one thing that really made this whole exercise seem worthwhile.

I'm fairly certain of it," said Lana, casting her line. "There's plenty of Wishiwashi in this lagoon, and the Totem Wishiwashi is in here. Just waiting for a challenge."

Bridge stood on the beach, one hand shielding his eyes as he looked out at the lagoon where the Totem Pokemon lived.

"...can we see it from here?"

And not go in the water?

It's here, during lunch that from the depths of the lagoon pond, a truly massive figure emerges.

A huge Quagsire steps slowly from the waters edge, flanked by a few smaller Quagsire. It's big, dopey smile belays its size as it tilts its head at the people who have come on the trip.

"Quag," he said with a cheerful greeting.

"Oh," said Kukui, paying attention. "Everyone, this is a Totem Pokemon, apparently come on behalf of Totem Wishiwashi."

"Quag." He held out his hands, in in his hands, were several Z-Crystals, glittering there for specific people. Rewards, for the ones who cleaned up the polluting Team Rocket, and those who passed the Trial of Totem Wishiwashi.

"Amazing," said Misty, and Lana nodded. "To receive so many Z-Crystals proves that Alola has accepted the Fallers as its own."

"This is truly a momentous occasion. Everyone, take your Z-Crystal! Be proud of the Z. You can now approach a Kahuna to challenge a Grand Trial." said Lana, excitedly.

Well that sure as eventful. Peter had only barely managed to not get caught in that crazy explosion and was back on shore, towel over his shoulders and hair a curly mess as he settled in for lunch, Shelob right by his side and Peeves tucked away back in its pokeball.

"Well that was. A thing." He says, sounding a little exhausted. At least his senses can relax while he's on dry land. "Think I might need a nap after that."

"Spina..." Shelob gently pats his leg.

Bridge sighed as he took a seat, Melisma hopping up onto the bench beside him. Handing some food to the Popplio first, he then began eating himself, trying not to look as grumpy as he felt.

"'course it had to be water," he mumbled.

"Pop," Melisma replied.

MEANWHILE...! - The Thing That Kaiba Uncovered

Nearby, Jessie, James and Meowth were dumping old robot parts into the ocean.

"Ah geez, this sucks doesn't it?" groaned James, pushing robot parts into the ocean. "It's like we can't even recycle this old junk!"

"It can't be helped!" Exclaimed Meowth, cracking his back. "All of this has been exploded so much, it's useless!"

"Yeah, yeah, it's real tough, shoving this stuff into the sea," said Jessie, sitting in a beach chair fanning herself.

"Wooooobbafett!" Exclaimed Wobbafett, waving his arms at her.

"That's right!" Exclaimed Meowth angrily. "You're just slacking off!"

"I'm SUPERVISING! And now that the pink brat is off at school, we can focus on actually villainy instead of being goody goods again! James you're doting on her too much!"

"I can't help it! She reminds me of Dawn and I kinda liked her," whimpered James.

"Quit bellyaching and shovel more junk!" Yelled Jessie, whacking him with a fan, loud enough to Draw Attention to Themselves.

Ellen had came back from her previous excursion when she heard the loud slap. Was someone in trouble? Instead, reaching the spot where they were at, she spotted a couple of litterers.
