Pokemon School - Water Pokemon Assignment!

Today in Pokemon School, there has been an assignment for the classes! Everyone gets to go out on the Ride Pokemon onto the ocean. It's a simple little all day assignment where we get to socialize with people young and old across the classes.

Dressed in clothing suited for actual swimming as well as being on the water, Misty and Professor Kukui are heading up this lesson with Misty's best friend and semi-TA for this lesson Lana!

"All right class, everyone ready? We're going to head out on the Ride Pokemon, so let's get set! Everyone got your fishing poles? We're going to head out to Lana's fishing spot, which is out on the open ocean! It's going to be a beautiful day today, and then we'll head to the site of the Totem Pokemon, Wishiwashi. It'll be a fun day, so please everyone get ready to learn about Water Pokemon!

"I'm sure it'll happen soon! Keep at it, and a Pokemon will come." said Lillie. "Lana always said fishing takes patience, and everything will fall into place. It's just as much of a battle as a actual Pokemon Battle."

“Can’t be too hard, can it?” Ellen asked.

"Oh no, it really isn't. It's a really neat and relaxing and fun way to battle." said Lillie. "I didn't get to appreciate it fully the last time, since I was wearing a full diving suit but now, I get to be outside in the sunshine."

“Wow, really?” Ellen said, blinking. “It was that bad, huh?”

"The lengths I went to avoiding touching Pokemon were... pretty remarkable," said Lillie, flushing red.

[hearts_beat]

“...I’m sorry.” Ellen said, reaching over to ruffle Lillie’s head.

[fallers_npcs]

"Thank you," said Lillie, leaning into the head ruffle. "I'm okay now. But as you can tell, it took a lot of work to get where I am today."

[hearts_beat]

“I can see now...” Ellen said, before feeling a tug on her rod. “Oh!”

"Oh you got something! Okay, feel the pull of the Pokemon, tug when it loosens and slacken when it gets too tight. Just like reeling in." Encouraged Lillie.

Of course she had no idea that Ellen was a cat so, fishing was probably second nature to her!

“I got it! I got it!”

It really was second nature to her. Of course whatever was caught on it was just a bit stronger than her, so there was a fight!

"I think you almost got it!" Exclaimed Lillie as it seemed like Ellen was coming closer to landing her Pokemon. "Just a little more!"

[hearts_beat]

With a yell, Ellen finally gave it one last tug to bring the catch to the surface! “Got it!”

Blink.

“What did I get?”

"Psy... duck?" said the clueless amphibian, holding onto the line, giving Ellen a glassy stare.

"That's a Psyduck! It's from the Kanto Region, and it's actually pretty rare out here." said Lillie. "It must have swam all the way out here."

"Psy Yi!"

“It... swam here?” Ellen said, surprised. “It must have been turned around, the poor thing!” She let out a sigh.

"Yeah, or it could have..." said Lillie but was interrupted by a shout.

"Psyduck! You dummy! There you are!" Exclaimed Misty, her Lapras coming up to them. "Honestly, I thought you drowned! Thanks for finding him!"

"Duck!" Exclaimed Psyduck happily.

[hearts_beat]

"Ah, you're welcome!" Ellen said, handing the Psyduck back over to Misty. "I figured something was off when Lillie told me they were rare here."

"Yeah, he fell off the Lapras and this dumb duck can't swim. Thanks for fishing him out of the ocean. I'm usually not worried about him but I was kind of worried he got swept out with the tide." admitted Misty.

"Duck," said Psyduck with a sheepish groan.

"I love this duck but he's such a space case."

"Misty's Psyduck is such a spaceout, even for Psyducks," said Lillie.

“You Care for each other. That’s what matters...” Ellen said, smiling.

"Yeah we do. We've been together for a very long time." said Misty, ruffling the duck's head affectionately. "I used to be so, so exasperated with him. Now I love him to bits."

"Duck! Psyduck Psy!" Exclaimed Psyduck happily.

Ellen can’t help but smile before trying her best to pull Lillie, Misty And Psyduck into a hug. “Oh, you guys are so awesome...!”

Misty, Psyduck and Lillie hugged back, Snowball jumping on Ellen's head with a cheerful "koo!" noise. "Thanks! We try our best. Now let's get back to fishing!"
