Pokemon School - Water Pokemon Assignment!
Today in Pokemon School, there has been an assignment for the classes! Everyone gets to go out on the Ride Pokemon onto the ocean. It's a simple little all day assignment where we get to socialize with people young and old across the classes.
Dressed in clothing suited for actual swimming as well as being on the water, Misty and Professor Kukui are heading up this lesson with Misty's best friend and semi-TA for this lesson Lana!
"All right class, everyone ready? We're going to head out on the Ride Pokemon, so let's get set! Everyone got your fishing poles? We're going to head out to Lana's fishing spot, which is out on the open ocean! It's going to be a beautiful day today, and then we'll head to the site of the Totem Pokemon, Wishiwashi. It'll be a fun day, so please everyone get ready to learn about Water Pokemon!

He knew it was going to be big, but not THAT big!! It was like a Wailord!
He tried to reel it back as well as he could, digging his shoes in and trying to use all his strength to keep his grip on the pole and the line from breaking.
It was a fierce current, like being caught in an undertow.

The Wishiwashi Totem zoomed about, its fierce power explosive as it careened about the lagoon sending waves of water everywhere.

So, kind of like tug of war? Just on a much bigger scale. He really was worried the line would break, gripping the pole and not getting thrown in the water himself was already challenging.
But getting proper advice from a professional is definitely better than fumbling around, hoping you hit the right answer by chance.
"I-it's like a whirlpool...!"
The spray made it feel like being caught in the midst of a stormy sea.
He tried to let the line give a little, before pulling again, then giving again, not having much of a feel for the rhythm he should use yet, he was having trouble keeping up with the circling Totem Pokemon. He should probably save his strength for the right time to reel it in, right?

He eased up on the line, watching with anticipation, hardly drawing a breath, too busy scanning the water, careful of any change in the tension on the line, then started reeling it in, fast as he could.
Won’t be long before he should use all he’s got, right? At least, that’s what he expected to do!

He was still in disbelief that it emerged at all and his reeling wasn't as strong or fast anymore, given how much of his energy he had expended earlier, but he was in awe of the sheer magnificence of the Totem Pokemon.
"A-amazing..."
Were all Totem Pokemon this big up-close?!
It was a little frightening, but that made for the best challenges, right? Forgetting how tired he was in the excitement, he reached for a pokeball.
"I'd like to challenge you, Totem Wishiwashi!" he said.

"It seems to accept your challenge," said Lana. "Totem Wishiwashi has accepted your challenge, Trip! Send your Pokemon out!"
no subject
"Alright... Serperior, go!" Trip tossed out the pokeball.
In a flash of white energy, Serperior emerged. The Pokemon reared up, prepared to strike, and rattled its leafy tail.
"Serperior, use Frenzy Plant!"
Seperior slammed its tail into the ground and sent large, curling roots with thorns.

Serperior certainly couldn’t take a blast that strong, but it was fast, so it could stand a brief delay before disappearing from view, to escape tthe incoming attack, and concentrate energy into its tail.

WishiWashi buckled and reeled backwards, a thousand Wishiwashi falling backwards as one as it got damaged by the powerful blow. Still, while it wavered, it retaliated with a powerful Tail Slap.
"Don't give up!" Exclaimed Lana from the sidelines. "You can do it!"

It split up! There's so many... he had never seen anything like it and lost his focus until Lana called out to him. He wasn't good with unexpected things and delayed calling for another attack:
"Serperior, dodge it!"
The order came too late for Serperior who held his ground, and by the time it came, he was already hit and down for the count! Serperior might've been very fast, but its defense wasn't very high to begin with.
"... you did your best, Serperior," he said, a little disappointed, but mostly guilty he hadn't given the order sooner.
