Network Post
[There's a jingle over the network as a feed flickers to life, and soon the image of Bridge appears, waving as DJ plays a quick trumpet fanfare.]
Thanks for that, DJ. [With a chuckle, he turns his attention back to what he's doing.] Hey guys. My name's Bridge, and I could use a bit of advice.
[Bridge fusses with something just a bit off screen before holding it up, revealing an egg for everyone to see.]
I came across this the other day...and I'm not really sure what to do. Is there a special way to take care of it, or will it just hatch on its own eventually?

That's what we did with Togepi when we hatched it.

I mean, I wouldn't recommend doing those things but when you, and I mean you in a general sense, live a life of adventure on the road, these sort of things happen.

[Still, he'll try to be as careful as possible.]
So how long does it take for a Pokemon egg to hatch?
no subject
A quarter of a seasonAbout three weeks? After we found the egg? I think? It was pretty lengthy but we didn't even know what Togepi was at first.no subject
So you guys had discovered a new Pokemon at the time?

[It kind of sounded like animals in his own world.]
That's pretty exciting, though, getting to see what kind of new ones could be out there.

Maybe next time we'll go to another region.

Just keep it safe and warm, it’ll hatch.
You’ll know it’s time when it cracks or glows.
Be caref about predators, though!! And don’t let anyone make an omelette of it, either.
no subject
All good notes, thanks. Any way to tell what'll hatch out of it?
no subject
Where did you find it? Was it alone? In a nest?
no subject
[He holds up the Pokemon egg again.]
Anything you can tell from this?
no subject
Sorry, I don’t think that’s a species native to my home region...
Have you tried asking Ash? He’s from Kanto and travelled to a lot of regions.
no subject
But I guess that'll be part of fun, seeing what hatches.

Alright, let's look at what we do know about it... it wasn't in a nest, so it's probably not a Flying type, unless the rocks you found were near a cliff or something.
It's around some rocks, so it could be a Rock or Ground type, or something else really hardy.
The patterns on the egg aren't a kind I'm familiar with, but we can typically exclude Pokemon with no similar patterns on their bodies. So the likes of Grimer and Ditto are out.
I'll try and do more research on it. Colour-based taxonomy is fairly standard...

Would it help if we could figure out what Pokemon take residence in the cave?
[He seems a bit surprised by the last statement, and he takes a look at the egg again.]
Well...I mean, since I found it, it's not like I can just abandon it, right?
no subject
That’d be a big help, yes.
... it’s still kind. You could’ve abandoned it, with no one knowing...
It’s worthy of praise. Noble, even.
Alola might be different, but not everyone is all that kind where I’m from.
[That or it’s just his luck clouding his view of things, but he still means every word.]
no subject
[He figured most people would have done the same.]
But thanks. And I'll try to double back to the cave and see what kind of Pokemon live there to narrow down the search a bit.
