[There's a jingle over the network as a feed flickers to life, and soon the image of Bridge appears, waving as DJ plays a quick trumpet fanfare.]

Thanks for that, DJ. [With a chuckle, he turns his attention back to what he's doing.] Hey guys. My name's Bridge, and I could use a bit of advice.

[Bridge fusses with something just a bit off screen before holding it up, revealing an egg for everyone to see.]

I came across this the other day...and I'm not really sure what to do. Is there a special way to take care of it, or will it just hatch on its own eventually?

Oh yeah, you got an egg? You want to care for it, keep it clean, warm, and make sure it's in a warm place and talk to it every day.

That's what we did with Togepi when we hatched it.

Yeah, I just found it one day. I've definitely been keeping it warm, but I'm kinda worried about traveling around with it. My bag doesn't feel like the safest means of transport.

Ah don't worry about that! A Pokemon Egg is one of the hardiest things in the world. They're way more durable than you'd expect, and Togepi's egg went through a lot of adventures in Misty's bag -- jumping from tall cliffs, falling into water, being passed between people, it's fine!

I mean, I wouldn't recommend doing those things but when you, and I mean you in a general sense, live a life of adventure on the road, these sort of things happen.

Ah. Good to know then, thanks.

[Still, he'll try to be as careful as possible.]

So how long does it take for a Pokemon egg to hatch?

[acmellash]

It took Misty to hatch Togepi about uh... A quarter of a seasonAbout three weeks? After we found the egg? I think? It was pretty lengthy but we didn't even know what Togepi was at first.

I suppose the amount of time can differ, depending on the species. [Kind of like regular animals back home.]

So you guys had discovered a new Pokemon at the time?

[acmellash]

Yeah. Back in the day, there was only 150 documented species of Pokemon. With Togepi, it shot up to 151, and then the Johto Region added another bunch of Pokemon. And then the Hoenn Region added to the dex and then the Sinnoh Dex. And then the Unova Dex had its own fair share of Pokemon that weren't even in any other regions. Kalos had its own stuff too, but a good amount of Pokemon found in other regions, and Alola just seems to have all sorts of things like Regional Variants.

Man. So each new place just has a bunch of new Pokemon to learn about, huh?

[It kind of sounded like animals in his own world.]

That's pretty exciting, though, getting to see what kind of new ones could be out there.

Yeah it really is. I'll bet that once we get a chance, Professor Kukui will bring everyone on a Field Trip to another region! We did that, and we went back to Kanto, my hometown for a week before returning to Alola actually.

Maybe next time we'll go to another region.
