Episode 2: A Rainbow Sparkling in the Sky

Today marks a momentous occasion for the Fallers. While the Music Festival has begun on the Island, and the Museum of Arts and History are exhibiting a new exhibit, all of the Fallers have been summoned to the Pokemon School for a very important request by their Rotoms.

"Thank you all for coming," said Burnet, standing in the classroom with the children of Ash Ketchum's class. "As you know, we of Alola have faced many challenges here, with the Ultra Holes opening up. Even now, more Fallers appear day by day. That is why, with the recent acceptance of the Totem Pokemon and their declaration, we have decided to extend our request."

Sliding up the chalkboard, there was a huge button behind the chalkboard as part of the classroom slid open to reveal an elevator. "Please, if you would step forward and take the elevator down."

Once downstairs, the Fallers would find themselves in a huge Command Center, filled with highly advanced technology as a Chansey greeted them, with a new crop of Meltan from nowhere. "Chansey!" She exclaimed, pressing a button as a holographic display appeared. Someswhere in the middle of it, the Alola School Children had been clothed in Armor on the way down, and they saluted Lusamine who appeared on the display.

"Alola, Ultra Guardians. Alola, Fallers. I'm Commander Lusamine, of the Ultra Guardians. And I have a request for you all. I'd like for you all, no, I humbly request for you to join the Ultra Guardians in some capacity, to defend Alola and find a way home for you, as well as defend the Island from Ultra Beasts. We are facing a sudden International Crisis of unprecedented levels, and I wish to explain..."

With the surprise arrival of Zuzu taking out one of his members, Dr. Ferrara sputters as Anabel commands, "Alakazam, use Psychic to stop the Ice Beam!"

Alakazam's Psychic slams against the Ice Beams that were arcing towards Shelob's Infestation and as a result, two of them took damage over time. "I suggest you give up." she said.

"Never." said Dr. Ferrara, moving over towards the Rainbow Wing as he tosses out a Pokeball. "Come, Vanilluxe!

In an instant, Vanilluxe appears on the battlefield, reinforcing the three Pokemon. It roars loudly as Z-Power surrounds it!

In an instant, the Roar commands the Stray Vanillite to rejoin the fray! Enemy Count is back up to 5 Pokemon!

"Let's see you get through a Totem Pokemon!" Boasted Dr. Ferrara as he went to unlock the Rainbow Wing as the Team Vanillite members went to block the humans.

TOTEM VANILLUXE USES HAIL!
ALL ICE MOVES NOW DEAL INCREASED DAMAGE!

"Yeah, I'm fine. Jeez, where am... I?" And "Zuzu" now finds herself staring down the sets of strange people all around her. "Not home, not Neo Domino... I'll figure this out later!"

"Zuzu" gets onto her feet, dusts herself off and goes for her Deck. "So, uh, what kind of monsters are these? And what kind of duel? I kinda hate getting dropped in the middle of a fight like this."

And as she says this, a round figure races into the scene, Pouncing on the Stray Vanillite.

A Jigglypuff.

"PUFF!" it yells out as it drops in.

"Good to hear!" Spider-Man flashes her a quick thumbs up and then turns his attention to everything else going on. He'll never get why people waste time with the battle-why not go right for the source?

"Yo, Dr Ferrara! I see you tryin' to have a Pokemon battle over here. I'm really happy for you and Imma let you finish but I got some of the best webs of all time!" He says gleefully before just firing his webs at the man.

Just as he's starting to feel smug he feels that tingle at the back of his neck. "Oh god." He fires a web up at the ceiling and pulls himself up, just narrowly missing getting tackled.

"Dude, I didn't invite you to this party!"

"The big one's going to toss us around if we don't start putting on the pressure!" Kaiba calls, hissing as the hail hits. How rude. He briefly glances over at Zuzu, questioning her odd behavior...but now's not the time.

Goomy's turn to shine now. The little goo dragon slides up, takes a deep breath, and unleashes a dragon pulse.

Kaiba spares her a fleeting smile as he braces himself for the next attack.

Ferrara is down. The thug beside Ferrara, not so much, at least not now- Yuume hasn't forgotten the primary goal of the mission however; Protect the Wing. Ferrara certainly can't get it right now.

But the thug who tried assisting is another story, and suffice to say they're in for a hell of a shock when Yuume abruptly launches from their shadow to sock them in the face. "H-UH!"

And then, like a shark, she's back beneath the 'waves'.

Audino meanwhile is acting like a proper little bruiser- the totem seems to be a larger threat right now, and with a cute little screech she charges with another Secret Power Punch. Not too shabby.

...

And then it roars, and she wonders what she's gotten into.

From bursting through the doors, comes Adora riding in on Fred. "Don't worry the Calvary is here--holy it's cold in here!"

Fred whinnied and takes (1) damage from the Hail automatically. RIP Fred. "Okay, this is dumb. Fred, Ember, let's go!"

Fred rears back and fires a Ember at the closest damaged Vanillite as she draws Sword and exclaims, "For the Honor of Greyskull!"

In an explosion of heat and light which warms the area, she transforms into She-Ra over her Ultra Guardian outfit, and attacks one of the Thugs with the flat of her sword. She misses by a mile. "Stand still!"

"You're really bad at that," said Fred casually.

Oh yeah, and because Adora somehow crit her magic, Fred can now TALK.

"Thank you for using the flat of your sword, Adora," said Courtney, sending out her own Pokemon, a Camerupt. "Camerupt, finish off the ailing Vanillite! Flamethrower now!"

Her Camerupt blew steam as the Vanillite Team member who wasn't running around in a panic retorted with, "Ice Beam let's go!"

The two forces clashed, sending up a huge pile of steam as another Vanillite member drew a knife and cut Dr. Ferrara free from the webbing somehow. "We need to get out of here Doctor!" Exclaimed the man as the two Vanillish powered their Bubble Beams and aimed it at Goomy and Audino.

The two damaged Vanillites empowered a Toxic and tossed it at Shelob and the Jigglypuff. The final Totem Pokemon empowered a Ice Beam and attacked Anabel and Fred.

"Light screen now!" Exclaimed Anabel, and Alakazam threw up a Light Screen, barely able to defend against the attack.

4 Damaged Vanillites, 2 Vanillish, 1 Heavily Damaged Totem Vanilluxe, 3 Humans remain!

"Puuuuuff!" The Jigglypuff yelped, being hit with the Toxic, leading "Zuzu" to gasp is shock.

"H-Hey, are you okay?!" she asked, concerned. The Jigglypuff regained its balance before huffing. "...sheesh, tough little thing, but... I'm not entirely sure I can fight this."

"PUFF!" the Jigglypuff yelled, running towards one of the damaged Vanillites and delivering a Doubleslap

"You have a knife? Who brings a knife to a Pokemon battle? I'm pretty sure that's cheating. That's bad and you should feel bad." Peter just continues to ramble as he does switches his web shooter settings to the spliter-web.

"Alright guys, you brought his on yourselves." He quips before aiming briefly and firing more webs, this time aiming to get them webbed as close to the ceiling as he can manage.

"If you guys could just hang there a minute while I get the others, that'd be great. I'll be right back though." He waves them both off and turns to see where the others are. Time to web them up, too.

"Hey Shelob, throw out a poison sting, would you?" He calls to Shelob.

Trip sent out Frillish and Vanillite, figuring the Hail would benefit an Ice type.

"Frillish, use Water Pulse on Vanillish!"

Frillish conjured up a ball of turning, churning waves, it sent Vanillish's way, but the enemy's Vanillite evaded the attack!
Frillish looked rather disappointed, Vanillite looked sympathetic, but quickly cheered up when called upon! Vanillite spun cheerfully into battle.

"Vanillite, use Blizzard!"

Vanillite gathered energy in its mouth and then exhaled an icy, wintry blast to defeat the enemy Vanillite!

There's the sound of rapid footsteps and crashing coming from a nearby hallway, getting progressively louder as the battle goes on. It's a minor detail that probably very few people have noticed, given how chaotic things are getting already.

Suddenly, however, in the middle of everything, a knocked out Vanillite (+grunt) comes flying out of the hallway, crashing into the wall opposite the doorway and crumpling to the floor in a heap. It's a surprise to be sure, but it's only more absurd when the sound of the footsteps from the hallway is revealed to be Sena, running at his usual breakneck speed. Wasn't he supposed to be patrolling outside?

He stops just outside the doorway entrance to catch his breath, before calling back down the hallway.

"Guys! Let's keep the sweep going strong! Go!"

And from the hallway comes...his entire team, all of them coming out flying with attacks aimed at the enemy team. Monta's leading the way with a Flame Wheel; Vee's following up with a heavy rain of Pin Missiles to try and cage in the opponent; Nin and Yan work together in tandem to fire off a series of Air Cutters and Air Slashes, Shell hangs back and fires off some Shadow Balls and Portus stays back to direct everything with Psychic.

That's one heck of a sweep, Sena.

A lot is happening right now.

A lot a lot. Just as Yuume and her Audino were both wondering about how much things were heading south, things manage to turn the opposite way- Yuume has enough time to charge her audino into the shadows and then it happens. Peter's webbing. A multitude of attacks.

A multitude of attacks from an entire surprise team of pokemon, thank you Sena.

It looks like there's not much else to do here. "Audino- go!" she hisses, melting back down as the pokemon charges. One firm secret power to a Vanillite should do the trick, right?

But there's still one grunt left...

...And Yuume does a very good job of rising rather dramatically from their shadow. Or.

Starting anyway.

"NHK-" Unfortunately this guy's a bit perceptive- instead of rising up behind the guy, she's quickly stuck half way out and holding his foot to keep from being kicked in the face. "You..!"

At least Audino was better matched? ...Even if she's blowing furiously on her now frostbitten fists, anyway.

"Go team! And can it get any warmer in here?!" Exclaimed Fred, as he took more ice damage. "Ember!"

Targeting the Vanillish with Ember, the Vanillish clashed with Blizzard and the two forces struggled, fire and ice for a moment before the fire was overwhelmed. "OH C'MON!" Exclaimed Fred before he was blasted backwards and skidded across the ground. "I tried..." he groaned before passing out temporarily.

"Fred!" Exclaimed Adora, running to his side. "You okay bud?"

"Oof, I could use a nap..." he groaned. "Put me on the bench coach..."

"You earned a rest bud," she said, putting him into his Pokeball to turn towards the thug that Yuume tried to sucker punch. "You and me bud, let's dance."

She willed Sword to turn into a club. It suddenly turned into a drinking cup. "... I can work with this."

She then Threw the cup at the Vanillite Thug, knocking him clean unconscious.

"Goomy, Dragon Pulse!" Exclaimed Kaiba, as the Goomy blasted the Vanillish on the left. The attack impacted but only did normal damage as it still stood.

With everything seemingly wrapping up, several Pokemon down from the salvo of attacks from all sides, a literal army of reinforcement appearing, it seemed like there was nothing to do but to settle the score.

But then, suddenly, without warning, twin laughs echoed through the room as the back wall imploded inwards as a massive mecha driven by a grey Alolan Meowth burst through the wall!

"Meowth," replied the Meowth saucily as she reached down and ripped the entire stand with the Rainbow Wing from its moorings, placing it into the chest cavity of the mecha.

Twin laughter echoed as a pair of forms dropped down, Butch and Cassidy wearing sparkling new updated black uniforms with R symbols on their chest, in rainbow colors.

"Prepare for Trouble we're here to make a fuss!"

"Make it double, we're here to muss you up!"

"To destroy the world for seed and profit!"

"To ruin lives, call it cruelty, loud and often!"

"To rise above the land, like a meteoric rise!"

"To reach above, our evil soars!"

"Cassidy!"

"Butch!"

"Team Rainbow Rocket, conquering the multiverse there's nothing to hide!"

"Take what's ours, it's ours by right!"

"Meowth!"

Cassidy smirked as a flood of new opponents refreshed the enemies as the Vanillish retreated through the Ultra Hole as 8 Team Rainbow Rocket Grunts appeared through two new Ultra Holes which bloomed open!

"Team Rainbow Rocket, dispose of these Ultra Guardians!" Exclaimed Cassidy. "Face our Venusaur Mecha!"

THE BATTLEFIELD HAS SHIFTED TO ENCOMPASS THE OUTDOORS AS WELL AS THE INSIDE!

"Ngh!"

Sena recalls Shell as a piece of Hail strikes it down, but it looks like his unexpected sweep might have saved the day.

And then suddenly a mecha comes crashing in through the wall. Yeah.

"You've...gotta be kidding me..." This is like Hiruma bringing that tank to the school festival, except worse. Somehow. Maybe he should have stayed outside after all.

"We've gotta get that back, you guys! Vee, Nin, hand off!"

That's Sena's command to create a distraction, so Nin fires off a ear-piercing Screech while Vee fires off Thunderbolts to try and stop the enemies from advancing.

This was uncomfortably reminiscent of Doma Castle. Yotsuyu frowned. And definitely that mechanical monstrosity could not be allowed to escape. But she'd managed to make her way in, and she was by no means helpless!

"Ajisai! The mecha, please! Use Bonemerang!"

Defeat the Ultra Guardians? Hardly.

“HAAAAAA!”

And from behind the arriving Rainbow Rockets is ~~Ellen~~ Cure Beat, launching herself feet first at the Venusaur mecha.

“You guys aren’t going anywhere!”

Yuzu couldn’t help but gawk - this wasn’t an Action Duel at all. What was this?!

The Jigglypuff, however, was more focused on the other creatures. With a grump, it went for a Tackle towards the Muk.

"Audino, you know what to do!"

"A-Audi..!" A sad fact- Audino does Not in fact completely know what to do. But as Yuume dives into the shadows and rockets toward the newly arrived mech, she can do her best. And her best is...

Heal Pulse. Best get the party all buffed up and what not. "AaaaAAaauuuuu..."

Yuume meanwhile has one goal and one goal only.

Get. That. Wing. Launching forward from the shadows her sword is finally drawn, pointing forward and tearing through the metal that's already been pried into by the others. As far as the grunts and goons around will see, Yuume seems to then melt into the machine...

Or more accurately, the shadows cast by the 'injury'. They know she's there. But where in there? The shadow shifts and charges for her goal, uncaring if she's spotted by what now holds pilots the beast.

Screech and Thunderbolt all rake across the battlefield, inflicting chipping damage on the group of Rocket enemies, scattering the men as they start their attacks but to no avail. The Screech confuses the whole lot of Pokemon as Yuume digs into the mecha even as Alolan Meowth clips her.

Bonemerang slams into the Mecha, tilting it forward moments before Cure Beat Slams into it's back dealing a good chunk of damage. It collapses to its knee, but this has an added bonus of snapping the pilot out of her Confusion.

Jigglypuff in the meantime barrels headlong into the first Muk and knocks it on its back, dealing moderate damage before bouncing back.

In the din, Cassidy yells, "Rockets! Counter with your attacks!"

"Sludge Muk, let's go!" Shouts one of the Rockets.

"Smokescreen Wheezing!" orders the other. Their targets? It's a blanket attack on all of the Pokemon for both groups.

"Use Flamethrower Arcanine," orders Cassidy, "Take out Anabel's Alakazam!"

"Not so fast," retorted Anabel, "Psybeam!"

The pair of attacks slammed together, blasting into a huge explosion as it forced all parties backwards from the effect as Carnivine snaked out his arms and grabbed the briefcases.

"Got em," said Butch. "Let's get out of here Cassidy."

While Bridge hadn't entirely planned on getting involved, it was hard not to if apparently things inside caused a blow-out that knocked a hole in the wall of the wing. He arrived just in time to see Carnivine pickup the briefcases with its vine arms.

"Soundbyte, Supersonic!"

Jumping off his shoulder, the Noibat flew at the Carnivine, sending a screeching soundwave at the grass Pokemon.

"Shoot-! They're going to get away! Nin, come with me! Portus, everyone, cover us!"

Vee, Yan, and Monta start firing out Thunderbolts, Air Slashes, and Flamethrowers. Portus takes their attacks under his control and directs them to collide headfirst with the blanket attack. They push back and forth for a few moments before eventually Sena's team wins out, and the resulting explosion ends up damaging the enemy team.

"Nin, use Double Team and get past these guys! I'll follow you!"

Nin follows his commands, and while she splits up into duplicates, Sena mentally counts down the people and Pokemon between him and Butch. Five. Three Rockets...Two Pokemon. He maps out the route he needs to take in his mind before running, making sharp cuts and turns. The two Pokemon go after Nin, apparently seeing her as the bigger threat. Surely three adult Rockets can stop one college kid, right?

Nope. One, two, three, he counts in his head as he ducks under them and weaves around their attempts to grab him. When he's out of his trance, he's gotten past the Rockets and can face down Butch and the mech, but...

Nin's still stuck. She wasn't able to avoid the two Pokemon sent after her.

"Erk-!" That didn't quite go according to plan. What the heck is he supposed to do by himself?!

This was not in any way ideal. Not at all. Yotsuyu let out a hiss from between her clenched teeth. She let down Gosetsu from where he'd been relaxing in the crook of her arm.

"Gosetsu! Help Nin!" She was not entirely certain as to what her Oshawott could do, but she did know that Sena's Pokemon couldn't withstand the onslaught it now faced. Not alone.

"Ajisai! Again!" she called to her Cubone, and the little creature sized up the mech again, throwing her bone against the mechanical monstrosity.

Gosetsu pulled the shell off of his stomach, narrowing his eyes to gauge the distance as he waddled closer. "WOTT!" he grunted in a ferocious manner, before pitching his shell at one of the Pokemon harassing Nin. It smacked the creature in the face, before bouncing off the heads of three other oppressors. The Oshawott preened himself, looking quite proud.

"No time to rest on your laurels, Gosetsu! Stay wary!"

Trip watched the battle unfold. The mecha was an unwelcome new addition... as were all the new enemies on the field.

There were two Alakazam on the team, so if they could work together, maybe they could take down the Arcanine and most importantly, the Carnivine with the briefcases...
He walked closer to Anabel and withdrew a pokeball. “I think the three of us could raise the pressure on them.”

Anabel raised a brow questioningly. “What do you mean?”

“Alright, Lampent, come on out!”

Assuming a commanding air, he threw out an arm, then curled his hand into a fist. “Psychic on Carnivine and Arcanine! Careful with the briefcases.”

Lampent cried out and the psychic energy bound the two Pokemon, restricting their movement.
Upon seeing that, Anabel smiled and realized the plan. If it were just Lampent, the move wouldn’t inflict much damage, especially as Lampent was attacking two at once, but with three Psychic types, they should overpower them!

“Alakazam! Attack Arcanine and Carnivine with Psychic too!”

Alakazam also joined in, the combined Psychic attacks not only restraining them, but building pressure and excruciating pain!

A giant robot. There is a giant robot and it stole the thing and apparently everyone in team rocket has to have some stupid dramatic entrance. Ugh. He gives his head a shake and refocuses in on this mission. He's got this. No worries.

"You guys are being like super extra and I' gonna need you to dial it back."

He fires his webs up at the mecha near the chest cavity the Rainbow Wing is stored in and sticks to the outside. It's a little rough-the mecha starts to flail and it's very, very difficult to keep holding on. How strong is this metal? Can he stick his arm through it or should he focus on the rainbow thingy?

Whatever. He shakes his head again and times the flailing of the mecha to smash his fist into the glass protecting the Rainbow Wing and quickly grabs it.

"I'll take this!"
