Event Post! Month of June - Will Be Updated Throughout the Month
Lei Day - June 1st
Lei Day is showing gratitude towards the first responders of the isles who had worked so graciously during the crisis in January and beforehand, when the isles were still undergoing such a shakeup. It’s here that the people are encouraged to create a Lei from the flowers growing in their homes and give them to the Comfey that will be visiting their homes.
From here, the Comfey will be bringing the Lei to the hardworking men and women of the responders and the people who were present during the original months of the game opening, and even if you weren’t part of the game opening, you still get a Lei from grateful people who are welcoming you into their homes.
The theme of this Lei Day is mentioned by Kahuna Hala, who says “We all have our own kuleana (responsibility) during this challenging time.”
Let us strive to move forward with the rest of Team Rainbow Rocket having given pause to the defense of our world, and recover the lost Arceus Plates from them and return them safely home in the coming months.
Lei Day is meant to be an interactive event, and allows for characters new and old to mingle and give out Leis to one another.
Music Festival - All Month
Throughout the entire month, the islands of Alola celebrate Mele Mei with scores of music festivals and live performances. Summer is prime time for tourists and there’s no better way for visitors and natives alike to immerse themselves in local music traditions.
Walking inside the pancake house greets guests with performances from bands ranging from jazz to traditional slack key. Or people can enjoy a bit of rock and roll out on the streets.
For those seeking a special event, flock to the beachfront at Hau’oli City for food, drinks, and a live concert as presented by famous artists- including Koffing and the Toxics, Dig-Dug-Leo, and more!

Akira had to resist laughing, throwing his a little after Yuya’s throw. It ricocheted off of the monkey’s head, right into Akira’s forehead. “Ow!” He rubbed the spot, thankful it wasn’t his glasses at least.
But that wasn’t the end of the Pokeball’s journey. For it bounced off, Yuya’s head as its next target.

"Uah! Seriously?!"
The fire monkey, noticing their own dwindling luck, has not allowed the catch attempts to go unnoticed. They pull even harder against Snow's grip and suddenly they feel a sense of freedom-
Before nearly smacking into a wall, though clipping into it still hurts in their condition.

Snow blinked once the monkey escaped, then glanced over at the struggling boys. It waved its tail at the broken Pokeball, and Akira almost swore they were smiling in amusement.
He grumbled a bit, searching for another Pokeball.

"This time!" Yuya announced since it was a race in the first place to see who could catch the monkey. "Pokeball go!"
He throws it, actually primed... but without warning the wild Pokemon drops to the floor just in time for it to fly over their head instead. The lack of amusement on his face is utterly priceless for anyone to see, not helped when a specific voice grinds his face into the embarrassment.
"... I am really... so done with today now." Guys please stop laughing at him, SERIOUSLY.
no subject
"Did you... get it?" she asked, biting her lip, trying not to look Yuya in the eye. Or the new guy. Or oh my god why is this even a thing.
Stupid monkey.

Akira gave a small sigh, exasperated as he kept searching. Where was...ah, there it was. He practically glared at the monkey, up to his glasses with frustration.
Maybe later, he’ll find this amusing, too.
“Get. In. The ball!” He half growled out, throwing the Pokeball as hard as he could at the monkey, almost praying for it to succeed this time.

There she is! Is what goes through his head when the monkey finally gets sucked into a ball- underwear and all. After a single violent shake, it dings sooner than expected, signalling a successful catch.
"... Yep he's got it."
no subject
"... uh, can I have it back?"

Snow sniffed at the Pokeball for a moment. Then they pounced on it, treating it like a toy and not like it held a living being in it.
“Snow, no-!” Akira exclaimed, pulling the Pokeball away from Snow.
Once he managed to free it from Snow (with a small grumble from them), he finally noticed Zuzu. “Oh! Uh.” He tossed the monkey out of the Pokeball and gave a small nod. “Yeah. Also,” he looked over at Yuya. “Did you want the monkey?”
no subject
He scoops up the primate and tentatively holds them out headfirst toward Zuzu, covering up the fact that he's awkwardly looking away by keeping his eyes toward Akira. "Really? I mean, you did catch it fair and square- but I'll take him onto my team instead if you're really offering...!"
Inwardly he hopes he doesn't regret that statement.
no subject
"I'll uh, get you two dinner later. For now, I gotta run. Sorry!"
With that, she's off, too embarrassed to talk further.
no subject
He gave a nod to Yuya, offering the Pokeball. “Right now I’m mostly a tourist and trying to get my bearings. Maybe I’ll try to make a team in the future, but for now, I’m good.”
no subject
"None of us got around to introducing ourselves, did we? I'm Yuya Sakaki," he says, Which considering the name
and accentis an interesting choice of order.no subject
A glance at the monkey’s Pokeball, he raised an eyebrow. “This wasn’t the kind of first meeting I’d expect to have.” But it was an interesting one. Probably up there as one of his favorites (and funnily enough, not weirdest).
“Is she going to be ok? Er, your friend.”
no subject
not that Yuya knows how he should entirely feel about itas gratitude. And above all else, there's always their duel disks. "I wouldn't have wanted to know what she wears either... if you know what I mean."
