Event Post! Month of June - Will Be Updated Throughout the Month
Lei Day - June 1st
Lei Day is showing gratitude towards the first responders of the isles who had worked so graciously during the crisis in January and beforehand, when the isles were still undergoing such a shakeup. It’s here that the people are encouraged to create a Lei from the flowers growing in their homes and give them to the Comfey that will be visiting their homes.
From here, the Comfey will be bringing the Lei to the hardworking men and women of the responders and the people who were present during the original months of the game opening, and even if you weren’t part of the game opening, you still get a Lei from grateful people who are welcoming you into their homes.
The theme of this Lei Day is mentioned by Kahuna Hala, who says “We all have our own kuleana (responsibility) during this challenging time.”
Let us strive to move forward with the rest of Team Rainbow Rocket having given pause to the defense of our world, and recover the lost Arceus Plates from them and return them safely home in the coming months.
Lei Day is meant to be an interactive event, and allows for characters new and old to mingle and give out Leis to one another.
Music Festival - All Month
Throughout the entire month, the islands of Alola celebrate Mele Mei with scores of music festivals and live performances. Summer is prime time for tourists and there’s no better way for visitors and natives alike to immerse themselves in local music traditions.
Walking inside the pancake house greets guests with performances from bands ranging from jazz to traditional slack key. Or people can enjoy a bit of rock and roll out on the streets.
For those seeking a special event, flock to the beachfront at Hau’oli City for food, drinks, and a live concert as presented by famous artists- including Koffing and the Toxics, Dig-Dug-Leo, and more!

June 1st Mingle

Snow laid by his chair, trying to take a nap. Akira glanced down at his partner. "Hey, Snow." He offered a small bit of pancake. "Want a snack?"
For a moment, Snow glanced up at him, then yawned and laid back down. "No? Alright." These were really good. Perhaps he should save some for later?
As he thought, somewhat unknowingly picking at his food, he became aware of a newcomer. “Oh, hello.” He greeted, sitting a bit straighter. “Enjoying the tunes?”
no subject
But to totally ignore the kid(?) would be rude and he's supposed to be a little better at that by now.
"New around here?" Shay finally makes himself add as he plops into an empty seat that just so happens to remain in conversation distance. And then simply orders a coffee for himself.
no subject
It wasn’t completely foreign, though. He had Morgana in his bag all the time, after all. This was just a step up to that. With a Pokemon. That couldn’t talk back to him.
He took another bite of his pancake, as if that would shut up his thoughts. Maybe it would’ve worked if he spoke them out loud.
“Oh, another coffee lover?” He asked when he realized what the other ordered. His eyes lit up, just a bit, as he thought of his training with Sojiro. Maybe the other was like his guardian. Seemingly cold on the outside, but rather warm underneath.
no subject
More than likely not intentional as the teen merely starts flipping through the handwritten notes.
no subject
Was that a fucking police badge??? Quickly he grabbed his own coffee, almost gulping it down in a way that just screamed he wasn’t trying to be suspicious but failed.
But it didn’t make sense for him to be so nervous. It seemed like the other had no interest in him. In terms of arresting him or thinking him a criminal.
Tapping on his coffee mug for a moment, he glanced back at the notebook. While not exactly the noisy type (in his mind), he couldn’t help but ask “Any cases?”
...Dammit, why did he ask that?
no subject
"We're still hard at work looking for these local artifacts called the Arceus Plates," he starts. Which might be surprisingly forthcoming, but it's not a private sort of case. Then Shay takes a sip of his coffee.
To mention Team Rainbow Rocket too? Maybe better to not leave that in the open.
"Doesn't help that someone's running around with one of them and a kid's Pokemon."
no subject
Another sip of his coffee, his hand mildly shaking. At least it wasn’t as bad as his initial shock. Still, he made a note to try to be careful and not suspicious. Even though he knew he did nothing wrong.
“A kid’s Pokemon?” He glanced down at the sleeping Snow, concern clear on his face. “That’s awful… I hope they get their Pokemon back.”
He did wonder a bit about the plates, but unlike running with someone else’s pet/friend/whatever-you-considered-a-Pokemon, he wasn’t that concerned. Maybe more so if they were strong as hell artifacts that could take over the world or whatever that shouldn’t be used by evil adults, but his current lack of knowledge led to some apathy.

"The force is welcome to more Fallers looking to be freelancers if it's something you want to do," he then adds as if it's not ironic whatsoever.
Maybe Shay knows, maybe not.
All Fallers get background checks now."Because that's just scratching the surface."no subject
Him? Freelancing with the force? When at one point he was a thief? Granted, not a literal thief. But just the thought made him smile at the image.
Another sip of his coffee as he thought. It’d be a shame if he passed up the opportunity. Besides, maybe it would grant some insight into what Akechi did, as the Second Coming of the Detective Prince.
“I’ve been told I’m pretty smart.” How much he actually believed that was questionable. Creative, maybe. Had to be for what he did. “Maybe I could look over it?”
no subject
"You better prove you have the skills for what it takes if you go for it," he replied. "And that you're not another blabbermouth special snowflake."
no subject
That just means I should work twice as hard. He thought after a few moments, trying to bury the hurt away. At the very least, a challenge could be fun.
“Guess we’ll see.” he half mumbled out after a moment.

Yuya found himself taking a poll of opinions about girls and their universal need for shopping sprees in an effort to distract himself from the honorable role of pack mule for Zuzu. While one voice predictably couldn’t offer anything besides condescension and ribbing over the matter, the remaining of the peanut gallery had fairly interesting opinions to put forward.
... Well okay, the entire conversation isn't enough for ignoring the unwieldy bags and boxes weighing him down.
"Is there even a closet big enough for all this stuff, Zuzu?" Yuya predictably whined as Biribiri trotted happily alongside them (Razz in their pokeball) with a single bag hanging from their mouth. "The saying isn't to shop until I drop...!"
B - Monkeyboard (Open, CW for Underwear)
"Hey! Get back here, you!"
Wild pokemon going on a food-stealing spree isn't anything new, especially when the fruit is plentiful on Alola.
But one might be wondering what a certain tomato-headed kid's hurry is as he skates at a breakneck pace along the paved streets on his roller-boots, in hot pursuit of an orange-furred primate.
Maybe it has something to do with the fact it's wearing a pair of flowery pink panties on its head and a pair of hippo-print boxer briefs on its bottom. Briefs that now have a hole crudely made for the tail it swings on every so often- leaving its hands free for snacking on stolen nanab berries.
All in all, it tells him that this Pokemon is some kind of monkey.
"Bubblebeam!" Yuya yells up to Razz as he precariously holds up the seal like a living squirt gun.
The resulting yelp from the wild creature and fear on its face as it narrowly avoids a faceful of frothy water lets him know that it's more than likely a fire type.
[Assists are welcome, but the final catch goes to Yuya.]
C - Wildcard!
Otherwise, one might find Yuya eating at the pancake house, embarrassed when his Performals show an extreme lack of talent compared to the professional folks, or training with his current team on the beachfront.
[Got something else in mind? Come at me!]
Monkeyboard
Akira glanced at Snow, silently asking if they had any thoughts on the matter. It seemed like Snow echoed his confusion, though he wasn’t sure how much of that was self projection.
I guess this is happening now. He thought, looking back at-oh god, they were a bit farther ahead already than he thought.
Akira took off in a sprint, Snow following behind after a moment. If there was anything Akira was thankful for, it was training with Ryuji.
Yuya might’ve been able to get by fast on the ground, but Akira kept trying to avoid the various obstacles and people, muttering a ‘sorry!’ as he passed by. Though, he noticed there were various stands. Maybe...
Perhaps surprising to the people paying attention, Akira took to parkouring up onto the stands and running along that way. Next, he focused on finding the monkey.
"Snow, quick attack!" At the command, a white blur passed by Yuya, aimed to hit the wild Pokemon.
When he was a fair distance ahead of Yuya, Akira jumped down. He was about to ask if Yuya needed some help, but quickly found himself on the ground. “Oof!”
no subject
Which is not going well because the fire primate suddenly twirls like a ballerina and abruptly tilts to the side, this time able to make its narrow escape look easier than the first. Such elegance is them immediately ruined when the monkey follows things up by slapping their butt and blowing a raspberry at the Absol.
He's frozen between voices telling him to watch out, to do something about Razz so that his arms are free, otherwise being unhelpful overall- so while usually, his reflexes are well-honed by action duels...
"AAAUUUGH!!!!"
"BUUARRRRR!!!"
Today is the day for a 'tomato' to figuratively splat into Akira and send the two of them and one Popplio into a heap.
no subject
Under the heap, Akira lay dazed for a moment. He shook his head and looked up best he could at Yuya and Razz. “Nng. I’m sorry.” Should’ve looked before I leaped.
After he freed his arms, Akira tried his best to pull himself out. For all his speed and agility, strength was that one skill he didn’t build on. And oh, how much he regretted that right about now.
no subject
Meanwhile, for the poor seal, the crash left them entirely sandwiched in between... and sitting at the brink of unconsciousness once their trainer apologetically scooped them up.
But as for the troublemaking primate, they move but they're not ready for Snow's retaliation. Teeth latch fast onto their tail- at first, the monkey flinches in shock, then screeches as they flail about with their darndest effort to shake their opponent off.
no subject
The screeches and growls pulled Akira’s attention to the battle. Snow did their best to dig their paws into the ground, but they were still pulled along, inch by inch.
He glanced between Yuya and the fight once, then twice. A third time, he kept his attention on Yuya, a finger pointing at the sight. “Should...should one of us catch it?”
no subject
And then he peers over where the wild monkey continues to struggle about, tiring themselves out just from yanking around the determined Absol this way and that. "But um... yeah probably...! Maybe this'll teach them not to go through anyone else's underwear drawers!"
... But considering who's doing all the work-
"Did you want them? Should we see whose ball catches it first?"
no subject
Catching the monkey was…NOT what he planned on doing. But then, what did he plan on doing besides helping?
He rubbed the back of his neck, eyes closed in thought. “Hm, sure.” Akira searched for a spare Pokeball. Once they had their Pokeballs out, he gave a nod to Yuya. “On three?”
no subject
Three! Yuya lobs his own ball and at best it plonks into the monkey's head... before bouncing off into the dirt entirely inert.
Either someone's finger missed the button or they forgot how to use these things.no subject
Akira had to resist laughing, throwing his a little after Yuya’s throw. It ricocheted off of the monkey’s head, right into Akira’s forehead. “Ow!” He rubbed the spot, thankful it wasn’t his glasses at least.
But that wasn’t the end of the Pokeball’s journey. For it bounced off, Yuya’s head as its next target.
no subject
"Uah! Seriously?!"
The fire monkey, noticing their own dwindling luck, has not allowed the catch attempts to go unnoticed. They pull even harder against Snow's grip and suddenly they feel a sense of freedom-
Before nearly smacking into a wall, though clipping into it still hurts in their condition.
no subject
Snow blinked once the monkey escaped, then glanced over at the struggling boys. It waved its tail at the broken Pokeball, and Akira almost swore they were smiling in amusement.
He grumbled a bit, searching for another Pokeball.
no subject
"This time!" Yuya announced since it was a race in the first place to see who could catch the monkey. "Pokeball go!"
He throws it, actually primed... but without warning the wild Pokemon drops to the floor just in time for it to fly over their head instead. The lack of amusement on his face is utterly priceless for anyone to see, not helped when a specific voice grinds his face into the embarrassment.
"... I am really... so done with today now." Guys please stop laughing at him, SERIOUSLY.
no subject
"Did you... get it?" she asked, biting her lip, trying not to look Yuya in the eye. Or the new guy. Or oh my god why is this even a thing.
Stupid monkey.
no subject
Akira gave a small sigh, exasperated as he kept searching. Where was...ah, there it was. He practically glared at the monkey, up to his glasses with frustration.
Maybe later, he’ll find this amusing, too.
“Get. In. The ball!” He half growled out, throwing the Pokeball as hard as he could at the monkey, almost praying for it to succeed this time.
no subject
There she is! Is what goes through his head when the monkey finally gets sucked into a ball- underwear and all. After a single violent shake, it dings sooner than expected, signalling a successful catch.
"... Yep he's got it."
no subject
"... uh, can I have it back?"
no subject
Snow sniffed at the Pokeball for a moment. Then they pounced on it, treating it like a toy and not like it held a living being in it.
“Snow, no-!” Akira exclaimed, pulling the Pokeball away from Snow.
Once he managed to free it from Snow (with a small grumble from them), he finally noticed Zuzu. “Oh! Uh.” He tossed the monkey out of the Pokeball and gave a small nod. “Yeah. Also,” he looked over at Yuya. “Did you want the monkey?”
no subject
He scoops up the primate and tentatively holds them out headfirst toward Zuzu, covering up the fact that he's awkwardly looking away by keeping his eyes toward Akira. "Really? I mean, you did catch it fair and square- but I'll take him onto my team instead if you're really offering...!"
Inwardly he hopes he doesn't regret that statement.
no subject
"I'll uh, get you two dinner later. For now, I gotta run. Sorry!"
With that, she's off, too embarrassed to talk further.
no subject
He gave a nod to Yuya, offering the Pokeball. “Right now I’m mostly a tourist and trying to get my bearings. Maybe I’ll try to make a team in the future, but for now, I’m good.”
no subject
"None of us got around to introducing ourselves, did we? I'm Yuya Sakaki," he says, Which considering the name
and accentis an interesting choice of order.no subject
A glance at the monkey’s Pokeball, he raised an eyebrow. “This wasn’t the kind of first meeting I’d expect to have.” But it was an interesting one. Probably up there as one of his favorites (and funnily enough, not weirdest).
“Is she going to be ok? Er, your friend.”
no subject
not that Yuya knows how he should entirely feel about itas gratitude. And above all else, there's always their duel disks. "I wouldn't have wanted to know what she wears either... if you know what I mean."
A
"Besides! You agreed to accompany me on this trip!"
