Once everyone was able to connect to the worlds even despite the worries that abounded, business seemed to work as usual as the people of Ultra Metropolis seemed to also have their own festivals even in this world. Today, they had invited everyone into their world as a show of good faith, as the sky was lit up with the light of stars as the brilliant stars above were glittering despite the radiance of the Etemax Tree far away on the coast.

The people of Paxio were really welcoming, and some of them would love to battle the newcomers. But more importantly, it was Alolans who were really bringing their delicious fruits, foods and vegetables to the land as the beach zone was lit up with beautiful lanterns.

It's very magical, and there's actually some good stuff about this world, as the people of Duckburg, Crystal Cove, Ultra Metropolis and Alola mingled. And you should take this time to relax, it's going to be some time before anything will be done. The Kahuna are meeting with the leaders of each world right now, so don't worry too much about it.

"I'm glad you're here," said Zuzu with a sniff. No she wasn't crying, she was just really happy okay?

"Oh, Yuya! Wait till you meet Yuzu, she'll be so excited to meet you! Again. Meet you again I mean. And Shay and Reira and... yeah, it's going to be wild, cause there's another world with other us-es who aren't actually crazy duplicates and..."

I.Z.U. who was accompanying the others on duties, was standing placidly to the side when Edward asked her the question. There was an audible sound of processing as if she was blinking before replying, "We are approximately 1.5 million light years away from home, so yes, relatively speaking we are far far away from home."

Ed stares for a hot little minute as he himself tries to process what was just said to him. He doesn't know what a light year is, but over a million is definitely a lot of something. "Eheh, f-fair enough..."

He begins to relax after his initial start. "Everyone here's been so nice to me, saying they've been expecting me, not to worry..."

He frowns. "They're not doing this out of fear, right? Like they aren't bracing for something terrible to happen in the near future, like, say, turning into a man-eating monster about a month from now...?" If he's got the date right, it should be about arrival time by now, he thinks...

"Mmm. You've grown."

Bigger and bulkier, obviously. Any other changes he'll have to see for himself. Kaiba straightens his posture and nods.

"The guards around here have Pokémom partners, for the most part. Do you have one yet?"

"I've got one," said Ushio, gesturing to his partner Exadrill who gave them a salute from near his knee. "Meet Excadrill. He and I met in Neo Domino actually before I arrived here."

"And now we're here for a festival. I gotta admit, this is a nice place, even with the weird stuff going on. If it wasn't Ancient Egyptians in the past, it was Incans in the present. And now it's Pokemon."

Love giggled and pulled Nozomi along. "You'll love the others. They're all great!"

"Humans require time to relax and recover from an ordeal," replied I.Z.U. "Even in the most stressful moments of time, there are times when people require time to relax."

Her eyes flickered in calculations. "By my calculations Team Rainbow Rocket will not make a move for another few weeks, requiring our strength. Which is why we will need all of our strength at the time being."

'KASHIWA HATSU' - VISITOR FROM YUUME'S WORLD

Who....is that?

There is a man- early twenties perhaps- tall and dark skinned and riddled with strange tattoos like ivy up the arms and neck and even the left side of his face- idly leaning against some of the local structures with a drink in hand. Some sort of slurpee, maybe. He pushes his red-rimmed glasses up his face, pendulum swaying gently from the braid at the right side of his rather leaf-like black hair, and takes a good long swig from said drink through the straw.

Honestly he dresses a bit like that 'hipster' archetype, or similar. A tight vest, a tight t-shirt, tight jeans....converse...yep. He's got the package deal there.

There are also some curious bracelets on his left arm what is with that. And...

Mirio and Eri! Oh and Aizawa too.

Mirio had come along when the festival was announced. He had managed to make the trip safely when a small form barreled into him with a cry and sob. "Mirio!" cried out a small, familiar voice as Eri crashed into him.

"E-eri...!" Exclaimed Mirio with a surprised gasp. "You're out of the hospital!"

"Mmhmm!" Exclaimed Eri, her eyes watering. "When you suddenly went to another world, we were so worried Mirio!"

"Yo," said another voice and the tired looking Aizawa stood there, sipping on Pinap Juice as Master stood next to him, feeding him another one of his Rejuv Juices. "I can't imagine what you got yourself into Mirio, but I'm glad you're safe. Are you ready to come home?"

"Home..." said Mirio softly. "Is the way open?"

"For now," said Aizawa. "If you're not though, we'll have to make arrangements with the school."

Mirio nodded. "For today, can we make it another pass? We'll have to discuss it with Professor Kukui and Principal Oak first. Maybe bring Principal Nedzu here to discuss things. For now. I'd like to show Eri around if that's okay. We're in a pretty safe area."

Aizawa sighed a little. "All right. Noibat. Keep a eye on them."

The huge Noibat nearby nodded and flew around overhead as Mirio smiled and took Eri's hand. "C'mon Eri, let me introduce you to everyone!"

"Okay!" said Eri.

So throughout the festival and the rest of the few days, Mirio can be seen with Eri, and sometimes Eri and Aizawa, showing them around.

Well, that's as good of a "no" as any, so Edward rolls and relaxes his shoulders with a sigh. So it's a recovery period, then. What a relief! "Well, the rest is definitely appreciated...!"

He's still a little confused about the specifics of this Rainbow Rocket conflict, but he can certainly tell that it's serious. He seems to have kept the majority of his Pooka features, and his whole body feels the pulse of the earth once again, so he's sure he can lend a hand even without these strange "Pokémon" creatures.

"Oh, right, I'm sorry...!" He flashes a toothy grin. "You can call me Edward. How are you called?"

On the one hand- he's kinda happy? Ryuzaki wasn't any slouch back home, but having known Zahra for a bit, alternate Shizuka definitely has his blessing. Probably. They do get a bit.....mad at times, and then there's the whole puzzle thing (which reminds him, he needs to ask about where that went...)

It takes almost another minute for the two of them to notice that anybody else is even present. Shizuka and Zahra part, Zahra stumbling from foot to foot before collapsing into Shizuka's arms (if they were depicted in an animated medium, their eyes would be doing that spinny spiral thing). Shizuka, however, seems steady as ever.

"Shizuka..."

"Zahra..."

The two of them look ready to go at it again, before Shizuka cocks her head to the side curiously. "Zahra, I swear if you've been cheating on me with an alternate universe clone, I'm going to do very bad things to you~" She only says it half-jokingly.

"Oh. Right." Zahra struggles to their feet. "So... hoboy. This is a lot. I guess I should- right, right." Their brain may be just a little bit scattered, still. "This is. Your brother. From a different universe. He's-"

"You're like me." Shizuka's voice is low, almost whispery. Relief, awe, gladness, and all sorts of other emotions swirl together in her voice. Then: "Oh my god, you're like me." Concern drowns out all the other emotions and she rushes towards Jounouchi while her actual brother looks on bemusedly. "Are you okay- I can't imagine- what happened, stars I can feel that scar from here-"

In the background, it turns out that Zahra is still love-dizzy and falls flat on their face. At least the sand is soft.

"Eh-" There is a pause, as Katsuya both listens and unintentionally predicts the conversation before him. Cheating? Chea? Wha- "O-Oi, why we talkin' abou'-"

Well, too late now he supposes, because he's being introduced now. Something feels....off. Somehow. He can't tell what, not initially and then-

And then Shizuka says that. And then he sees her face. Sees what's hidden, 'sees' what's there. And...

"Hey..." What... "H-Hey, what th' hell-"

'You're like me'. The words feel like ice, and he half stumbles in place, successfully managing one partial step backward in the shock. His expression is torn. An incredulous 'smile' that one would only expect to see in extreme denial, because anything, anything would be better.

"You're blind..." He shakes, and looks from Shizuka to his counterpart in confusion. "You're...how th' hell- Why..!? Tha' was s'pposed t'...the money was s'pposed..."

He holds his head, eyes already watering.

He hasn't even realized she spoke of his scar as if she were touching it yet.

Zahra can't believe what they're seeing as they cling on to Shizuka. Their eyes dart from the badge, to the jacket, to the scar, to the badge again. Yugi (their Yugi's) gaze follows the same pattern while.

"...figures that somebody like you would become a pig."

"ZAHRA!" Yugi protests.

"No, no. They have a point. Dear, is this the one that-"

"The first one Atem used his powers on? Yeah. Like I said, figures he'd become a pig."

"I'm going to have to head back to sort this out at some point. Domino from almost every point in the century is represented here. And now I have to worry about a rampaging Snorlax crushing someone."

He snorts, though it's not an amused sound.

"Take it in. For all the drama that happens here...as tired as I am of being jerked around like someone's plaything? It's not entirely awful."

He reaches down to pet Goose, his loyal Goomy curled at his side.

"Tha's what I told her to do," mutters the other Jounouchi, rubbing his arm and looking away. "When Zahra gave 'er the prize money. But- but she used it to get me outta dad's instead."

Shizuka is too busy preoccupying herself with her "brother," hissing between her teeth as she feels the remnants of the sun god's fire in his scar. "Oh, Katsuya. I'm so, so sorry that you had to bear this burden in my place."

Oh, Shizuka. If only you knew.

Ushio gives a tired sigh, leaning his head back for a moment. Figures.

"You know," he said, not even meeting their glare. "It's times like this I wonder why Yusei and Judai even gave your people's world the time of day to fix the cracks in reality? Can't you just stop calling me a pig at least? I'm doing my job like every person in Neo Domino, I don't need your bull when there's hardworking people keeping the streets safe."

Light glimmers from his dog-tags, and Katsuya is stunned. Gave her the prize money, as if his counterpart hadn't been there. As if he'd never been there, he thinks, and maybe he really wasn't, god only knows why but maybe he wasn't there maybe things Could get worse, maybe, maybe, maybe,

His eyes are filled with tears.

"No...nonononono..." 'Burden', she says, and that can only mean, "No, no, no way y' had t' face...not tha' thing, tell me y' didn'," he's whispering, despite already 'seeing' the answer in his mind. "Y' didn'...y'..."

"Tw'ny minutes," he mutters, tears now going down his cheeks. If it was exactly the same she'll understand, the significance of the statement. "F'r tw'ny..."

'You were clinically dead for twenty minutes', he was told when he woke up all those weeks ago.

There's another young man walking down the road, munching on food from a takeout box. "Man, this stuff is real good," he said through a mouthful of fried shrimp. "Makes me realize how much I missed a good homecooked meal. I should stop by this world all the time."

The overly large tabby meowed at his side as he dangled the food at it as the spirit next to him sighed before the other spirit, the one who looked like a young professor looked up. "Judai-kun..."

"Yeah I see him. Hey," he called out to Hatsu, waving. "You're a long way from home."

"Your Pokemon are quite entertaining," said the young man who stepped up, his own Pokemon, a small Phanphy braying happy to join Dio's Pokemon. "Having a picnic I take it?"

He smiled, kneeling down to offer the Pokemon some food from a pouch.

Eyebrows go way way up as Hatsu turns to that guy and oh shiiiiii- "Mn- O- Oi, Judai?" He'll stop slurping slurpee for now. "As in Judai Yuuki..?" Huh! "...Huh. I guess I shouldn't be surprised... ...you know they have a plaque for you in the Academy of Fusion? Sort of weird but at least it was after your time..." Uh.

Anyway. "Eh, everyone's a long way from home here! It's a great big space party!"

Of course, being from a world with Duel Monsters, as far as Shizuka and Zahra are concerend, there's only one way to celebrate a reunion: A duel!

"Not gonna go easy on you, babe!" Zahra yells as they draw their opening hand.

So does Shizuka. "I'd make this even more painful if you did."

"Alright! I set Timegazer Magician and Stargazer Magician in my Spell and Trap Zone, forming the Pendulum Scale!" wow wait hold up,

The two familiar magicians appear beside Zahra in columns of light, paying no mind to "Hatsu."

"Swing, pendulum of my soul! Pendulum Summon! Come on out, Palladium Oracle Mana and Apprentice Illusion Magician!" The real, actual Mana nearby (that must be a trip) whoops and cheers for her monster counterparts. "Using the Level 6 Palladium Oracle Mana and the Level 6 Apprentice Illusion Magician, I build the Overlay Network. Young dreams combine into the hope of the cosmos! Spellbinding witch, heed my call: Magi Magi ☆ Magician Gal!"

But Reira doesn't CARE about the people. Well, she does, but there are more important things! Like that noibat.

Reira spots it, follows it on her (currently hopping like a massive oversized sparrow) bird, hair bouncing behind her like a strange silver cape for the thing. Bat....

She might not be paying attention to the people at all.

This may be unwise, but at least Santa is giving a sniff at the people.

Judai chuckled. "Relax. I'm not here to make trouble, Hatsu" he said, even though the Name behind it was clearly Zarc. "I just wanted to see how you were doing in the big space party!"

Grinning as he leaned against the wall next to him, he fed another fried shrimp to Pharoah who decided Hatsu's leg was the perfect leaning board. Have a huge chonker rubbing your leg dude.

"I won't bore you with the details," said Judai, dipping his shrimp into prawn sauce, "But every Duel World is in shambles right now. And I mean it. Yusei and I have been working overtime trying to fix them all. And it makes it worse since the Pokemon have started showing up in almost all of them. But we make due! I want to know just one thing!" Judai took a bite. "How's your vacation? Relaxing?"
