Brooding on a rooftop
Spider-man is up late tonight, it seems. Something on the radio had him crawl out of his window and take a seat near the museum so he could watch over it. It must have been a false alarm but he's out here anyway, why not just chill in the evening air?
"Everything seems quiet tonight, Peter. You should be able to head back now." Karen tells him in her usual somewhat soothing tone of voice. Or maybe that's just how it sounds to him. He lets out a sigh and pulls off his mask before running his hands through his hair.
"Really, there's nothing?" He glances down at Shelob who just offers a shrug. It was good there wasn't a whole lot of crime, he guessed but now how was he supposed to distract himself on bad nights? He lets out another sigh and pulls his mask back on.
"Hey Karen, what time is it?"
"It is now three fourteen, AM. You have school in approximately six hours. It is recommended that you get some sleep."
"Right. Sleep." Peter shakes his head, knowing that isn't going to happen. "Really, there's absolutely nothing on the radar? No one that needs Spider-Man's help?"
"Everything is peaceful at this time. You should head to bed soon."
"Spina." Shelob agrees. Peter ignores them both and just sits with his legs hanging over the edge of the roof.

Time for an apology
Which is why he's out for a late night walk. Besides Hala's Komala (who follows after him since he's still on probation), Wes is alone with his egg, quietly reflecting on things.
Wes is not sure why he looks up. Maybe he sees the teenager's legs. Maybe he hears Shelob. Regardless, in the bright moonlight he can make out the vague outline of Peter. This looks like the rough shape and size of someone he knows.
"Spider-Man." Down here, kiddo.
no subject
He stops though as recognition immediately sets in. His sense isn't going off but he remains cautiously on guard. The Spider-sense doesn't always work the way it should and it's especially off when he's overly tired or just doesn't have great control over something like his emotions.
"Oh! Hey! We meet again!" He says cheerfully but if Wes makes the wrong move, he won't hesitate to web him.
no subject
"Yes. We meet again," Wes repeats slowly. "I wanted to talk to you. I wanted to... apologise. For when we first met."
no subject
"Oh that? Don't worry about it-I've had a lot worse than that so I'm cool. I'm good. Just, you know, don't do it again and I won't have to web you. What brings you out so early in the morning?"
no subject
Also Toomes technically didn't apologise to him for that.Wes raises an eyebrow at Peter. While he was younger, the jittery, motor-mouth speech reminded him awfully of his handler, Doc. Not that it was a bad thing, just something interesting.
"Slept earlier. Can't sleep now. So the egg and I are going for a walk." He holds up the egg carrier before he looks at Peter.
"Are you always on patrol at this early? Do Spider-men sleep?"
no subject
Peter just offers a shrug. He won't deny that he probably should be asleep but welp. That's not happening.
"Uh.. sometimes. I mean a little. Just not tired right now-which kinda sucks 'cause lol, it's a school night. But I mean, of course it is."
no subject
"I haven't been to school before. I wouldn't know if being tired for school sucks or not."
no subject
"But on that note, school can be boring. I learn better on my own."
no subject
"Pokemon school though... isn't that better?" Because Pokemon makes everything better.
no subject
"Only when there's like... field trips and stuff. But it's still school. I tend to be way ahead of the curve. I like to stay that way and why am I telling you this? Oh my god, it's so late." He should be in bed.
"Uh, sorry for all that."
no subject
"Nothing to be sorry about. I can patrol in your place. If you're ahead of the curve, ask for something more interesting. Or I can if you're shy."
no subject
"That's nice of you-but uh-I have it on pretty good authority there's just not much happening tonight." He states. "But don't worry-I'll have something to entertain myself with-I'm pretty good at it and there's always the library."
no subject
"Okay... I'll watch anyway. Might calm the egg down," Wes says, as if his statement is perfectly logical and makes sense.
"... Come see me at Samuel Oak's house sometime, Spider-Man. I have... an apology present. For your Spinarak. Or tell me where I can leave a smoothie."

That tingle? Was Peni on approach. What up?
"I got my sleep in early, so I was just taking SP//dr out for a morning run. He was getting a little stiff."
That big looming shape over behind you with a big ol' smiley face on its windshield? That's SP//dr Peter. SUP.
no subject
"Uh. I'm not brooding. I'm on patrol. That's all."
"There is nothing to patrol. It is Three eighteen in the morning. You have School in five hours and forty-two minutes." Karen feels the need to remind me.
"Yeah, I know that. Shut up Karen."
no subject
SP//dr sat down on the rooftop as well. "What's on your mind Peter? You know it's not good to lose sleep even if you can't sleep. Spider Metabolism's not going to function if you lose too much sleep every night."
She offered him a handful of candy. "Here, it's calories, but you're going to need it if you're going to stay up but that's probably a bad idea. Miles tried staying up all night one time, and he was dead on his feet the next morning. ... and then we fought Scorpion twice in one day."
no subject
"Thanks, but I think I'd rather-" He gives her a look about her example and just shakes his head. "I'll be okay. I just don't sleep much-I haven't since even before the bite."
no subject
"He's one of the newest Spiders," said Peni. "I met him just a day after he became Spider-man actually. His Peter... died actually, passing on the torch to him. He was scared, panicked. He didn't know what to do, but when he saw that the world needed Spider-man, you know what he did?" Peni smiled. "He went into a store... bought a Spider-man costume two sizes too small, put it on in the bathroom, and went to fight crime."
"Gosh he was bad but... he's a great Spider-man. There's others you know. Gwen, Noir, Ham... Ham got bitten by a radioactive Pig. That's pretty wild you know?"
Peni giggled as she chewed on another chunk of candy. "The point is, they took care of themselves. Learned to take care of themselves. Even grumpy old Noir who fights Nazi's and survives on Egg Creams. And Peter B. Who has, well..." She poked Peter in the stomach. "One of those, but thicker. Self care's important Peter, especially for a Spider. You getting what I'm saying?"
no subject
"That is an awful lot to take in." He just says after a moment, his tone contemplative.
"It's nothing. Well, I mean it's not. I just. It's something I don't talk to anyone about. At all. Not Ned, Not MJ Not Mr Stark, Not Jenny, and not other Spiders. No one. As far as I'm concerned I'd like to pretend it didn't even happen. I'll go back mostly normal in a few days, I'm sure."
no subject
Standing up, she stretched her arms over her head and said, "Yeah, Peter B did this for us the last time we got together in Miles' world. C'mon, follow me."
Getting into SP//dr, she gestured to him. "C'mon! Follow! You'll enjoy this." Casting a web, she swung off towards the main part of the city towards the part of the city that was still light with life.
no subject
He needed to get over this... whatever this was and soon. He watches her a moment, trying to figure out what she has in mind because how could she know what he'll enjoy? Just because she's another Spider-Person doesn't mean she knows him, does it? He glances down at Shelob to see what she thinks.
"Spina." She tells him encouragingly, obviously wanting him to go.
"Yeah, yeah, alright." He gets to his feet to follow.
