Alola Farmers Harvest Festival!

There's been signs leading up to the announcement and the four islands have been hard at work preparing for such an event. The four islands have been preparing their ferry's for such an occasion all week, but now, it's finally here! The Alola Famers Harvest Festival has begun!

From the Week of the 10th to the 15th, the Farmers Harvest Festival will be available. This means that not only the people of Alola will be celebrating the turn of the season with a huge All-Four Island Farmers Market in the four major town ports, but also there will be music, dancing, and all kinds of adventure just waiting to be found.

But there has also been a surprising upswing in sightings of special Pokemon in the area.

Pokemon from Galar, Alcremie in all of its various forms have been appearing across the islands, drawn by the food and fun. However, some of them are up to mischief and can be found in various spots of the island, stealing food and/or possibly making trouble.

It's up to you to find and deal with these Alcremie as you see fit. But be careful, one of them might have a surprise in store for those unaware!

Towards the end of the week, there will be a surprise appearance from a famous chef duo, one from the Sinnoh Region's famous Seven Stars Restaurant!

Roman and Kylie will be offering a chance to cook a full 7 Course Meal for anyone who can defeat them in battle, for them and their party. Of course, the opportunity is open to everyone involved. All you have to do -- is defeat their champion. Who is their champion? Well, we'll just have to see about that!

"Nice to meet you, and you too Haunter," said Gary, as Umbreon made a noise greeting the pair.

"I'm from Kanto," said said Gary. "But I'm also a teacher at the school. Teaching Battling. You might want to give it a try."

“Ah, yeah, school...” Ellen laughed sheepishly at. “I really should, but...”

The Haunter slipped back out, waving at the two.

"I'm honestly surprised that you've got a partner you're afraid of," said Gary, concerned. "Some people would have traded them away by now, but he seems very attached to you. If the Tapus thought he would be a good fit for you, there must be a reason for it."

[hearts_beat]

"Hm? I, well..." Ellen let out a small sigh. "I'm scared of ghosts, but I just... I just can't let him be left alone, now could I?"

"Some people are, it's not that uncommon."

Gary added, "You know, there's even some people who are afraid of Pokemon out there. Even Ash met a kid who was afraid of Pokemon in the Hoenn Region."

[hearts_beat]

"Really? Do you know what happened?" Ellen asked, curious.

[fallers_npcs]

"It took time, effort, and helped the kid see that there wasn't anything to fear from Pokemon." said Gary.

"Excuse me, but did you say you're afraid of Ghost Pokemon? I couldn't help but overhear, sorry," said a voice, as Lillie and Snowball stood there, embarrassed to have overheard the conversation. "Oh hello Professor Gary! I'm Lillie, a classmate of yours. I was afraid of all Pokemon as well for the longest time."

"Oh! Um... I... yes, I am." Ellen admitted, sheepishly. She let out a sigh before looking at Lillie. "I'm Ellen and... how... what did you do? How did you adjust?"

"Well it's a long story that involves a lot of gentle coaxing, trauma and recovery. Can we sit down and have a drink?" asked Lillie.

"Sounds like a good plan, something like this you want to sit down for." said Gary. "There's Oranguru's cafe over there if you two want to grab a drink. I can sit a little further if you two want to chat privately."

"Um, sure! That'll be good!" Ellen said, nodding quickly. She had to hear what Lillie had to say. Maybe it could help with her problem.

Getting a seat at Oranguru's outdoor cafe, Lillie ordered four juices for her, Snowball, Ellen and Ellen's Haunter, Lillie passed the drinks to them. "Well, it all started when I was little. I loved Pokemon, still do actually. I was living on the Aether Foundation Island with my family. Everything seemed perfect until the incident."

"Coo..." said Snowball in between sips.

"You see, my mother was conducting research into Ultra Holes and Ultra Beasts, and they made a Pokemon called Silvally to combat them in case they ever got out of control in their research. But... I didn't know this."

Ellen blinked as she took her juice, listen intently as her Haunter began to drink its juice.

"So... what happened?" she asked, curious.

"At that moment, a Ultra Hole opened up and the Ultra Beast Nihilego came through it. It was beautiful, captivating... and it tried to kidnap me. It tried to drag me into another world, and I was only six at the time. Silvally rushed to my aid, and saved me from Nihilego, but the incident traumatized me for life. All I could see in my eye, was a shadowy Pokemon, screaming at me with fang and claw, lunging at me out of the darkness with glowing eyes."

Lillie took a sip of her drink. "I lived with the fear of Pokemon for years, unable to touch them, still loving Pokemon but unable to touch, interact, but I still tried so hard to do things with them. But being close to them would elicit a scream of fright, even though I would jump and flinch. And then I got an egg, and from it, I hatched Snowball."

Lillie reached over and pet Snowball on the head, the Vulpix rubbing her head into her hand. "Snowball was the first Pokemon I could touch. And then, Pikachu was the second. Slowly, gradually, I grew past my fear. Little at a time."

"Oh, wow... I don't know if I could have handled such a thing myself." Ellen admitted. "I've never handled ghosts too well. Especially if it's a prank. It doesn't help that my Haunter likes to prank me a lot, so..."

"Mmm, the thing is we're not alone right now. You're not alone. I didn't have to do this alone. Learning how to deal with your Pokemon's personality is one of the things that we can help you with."

Lillie smiled, reaching over and offering a hand to Ellen. "I've seen you in class, and we want to get to know you better. Want to talk more in class? We can do more activities together? We can help each other with our Pokemon."

Ellen blushed a bit as she went to take Lillie's hand. She was still so uncomfortable with everything and yet here was someone willing to help her.

"...th-thank you. I'd... I'd like that. A lot." she said, smiling.

Lillie smiled, folding her hand with Ellen's. "We're all here, everyone. Me, my friends, we're all here to help you out. You know?"

“Yeah... yeah, you’re right. I’m sorry, I’m still not used to all of this just yet...” Ellen admitted.

"It's okay. One step at a time, right?" said Lillie, smiling. "We'll get through this."

[hearts_beat]

“I really owe you for your help.” Ellen said, smiling wider.

"Yes! The first thing we'll have to do of course, is to start slowly interacting with your Pokemon with a group of course. Don't do it alone." said Lillie.

[hearts_beat]

“W-with a group?” Ellen stammered. She’d have to do this with people watching her?

"It's okay, group work is a little easier with Pokemon than it is by yourself. I get the whole anxiety thing, I have a lot of it." assured Lillie.
