Season 2, Episode 7 - Racecars, Lasers, Aeroplanes!
CHASE TEAM:
“Alright, I’m sure you guys know the deal by now.” Professor Kukui said. “With Aether missing, we’re also missing our friends, so we need to find them and get them home. That goes double with finding out where Glomgold disappeared to. That’s where you guys come in.”
With that, Kukui motioned to the remains of the Aether team as well as the former members of Overwatch assembling a machine with an angry Della telling them to hurry up.
“...anyway, once the machine is ready, you guys are going in.”
“We aren’t able to figure out where Aether is, but we have a lock on Glomgold.” Wicke said. “In theory, that means that you should get the drop on him and get back everyone.”
“Yeah…” Kukui sighed before shaking his head, the Aether crew giving the team their equipment, including Ride Pokemon. “Don’t worry about us, we’ll hold down the fort. This is your time to shine.”
Once everyone is geared up, the portal shines to life. “Don’t worry, Solgaleo and Lunala will help out if anything goes wrong!” Wicke said, nodding. “Good luck!”
With that, the team was sent off into the wild unknown, reappearing over the skies of what appears to be a city in the horizon… and a large bin on an island under them.
Things have gotten just a little rougher...
HOME TEAM:
“All seems good on our end,” said Wicke, tapping her controls as Winston adjusted his glasses. “Now all we can do is pray for their safe return…”
“Indeed,” replied Winston. “For now… we have things to do. Repairs, and a festival to plan.”
“Can’t believe you’re doing a festival right now,” remarked McCree. “Seems kind of strange, don’t it?”
I.Z.U. tilted her head. “In times of duress, even the darkest days are lit by the most gentle of moments.”
Wicke smiled as she nodded. “That’s right! C’mon everyone, the festival of boats is waiting for us.”
That evening, the entire town is lit up with brilliant lights as the boats are decorated with incredible lights. Somewhere, someone is playing the theme from Tangled like a meme or something. But it truly is magical as a thousand lanterns are released into the skies.
It’s the start of the new year in another region. Time to celebrate.
Throughout the evening, there’ll be star shaped cakes, desserts, and a time for rest and relaxation for the Fallers and natives who remained on the island. One can find the Champions who had managed to defeat their adversaries relaxing on the beach, and Ash and Serena sat there with Iris and their friends, although after a while, Ash broke away to talk to anyone who seemed down. Maybe he’ll approach you during this time. After all, Gladion and Lillie went with the Fallers who were chosen to travel to find Lusamine and the others. And this time, they weren’t coming back without their mother.
Away Team
You’re in the Ultra Metropolis! Wow! Oh hey, look at that giant building, maybe there’s something interesting in there?
Or there’s all the Zones! Fire Zone! Water Zone! Camelot Zone! (Don’t go there, it’s a silly place.)
Or maybe you could talk with the leader of the Rescue Team, Mako, who is relaxing with Hoopa and her Hydreigon.
There’s also Lusamine to talk to, make sure she’s okay and all.
Orrr you could go tell Giovanni how much he sucks, maybe?
You’ve got downtime for a while, spend it as you please!
(OoC: Feel free to do starters for any of them. Setting up a top post for the Chase Team!)

CHASE TEAM Minor Intro
Re: CHASE TEAM Minor Intro
"Should we come in for a landing to explain ourselves?"
no subject
"Mnnh... I can go handle it, actually. That sort of distance is relatively easy to close..."
She's already melting into the shadows before anyone can really stop her. It's fine, probably, she just plans to come out the wall and greet the duck.
"Excuse me?"
A+ planning can't go wrong
no subject
"Don't you try and get the jump on me, lass!" he said.
no subject
She's wearing a knit pink poncho...
"I'm not here to fight," she insists with a frown, hands held up in more of a 'surrender' gesture than anything. "I'm here to ask a question- my apologies if we were trespassing, but we're pursuing a criminal..."
She trails off a bit- the others, after all, are not exactly standing idly.
no subject
Also unlike her, Sena still has his Kamen Rider-like armor on, so he looks much more suspicious with his full-face mask and his bug-like armor, almost like some kind of villainous mook. It doesn't help that he seems to have actually slipped into his Eyeshield-like mannerisms for the time being, in his attempt to be more of a leader, so he's actually holding himself upright while he hovers in place with the help of his Ride Volcaronoa. It doesn't do much for his actual height, but...maybe it helps his presence. A little.
"She's right. The person (duck...?) we're pursuing...they've caused a lot of trouble in our world. A guy named Glomgold, do you know of him?"

AWAY TEAM a disaster in progress
Once that's taken care of, he's immediately off for a walk, staying fairly close to their base. This world is so eerie...the strange light really makes him miss their island paradise. He keeps to himself, mindful of the precarious situation, but he can't help but stop and stare at the red light in the distance.
"...why does it feel like we're already screwed?"
Re: AWAY TEAM a disaster in progress
She flipped with incredible grace down to the ground as she grinned. "It's the start of an actual adventure! We've had a lot of time to rest up, and while resting and relaxing is good, don't you think that having an adventure is incredible? Just think! Even though we might be on the back foot, there's people counting on us to make things right."
Peni leaned over the railing and gazed out over towards the red light. "To think that the Pokemon sleeping under that tree in the distance is the reason why we're all here in the first place. Makes you wonder just how incredible Pokemon really are."
no subject
"They are. I've very rarely seen power that could even come close to matching it. But humans aren't fit to control it, are they..."
He goes quiet.
"I don't know if you heard about the last situation with powerful Pokémon summoned to Alola. A version of me from another dimension captured them, and I still don't know what that means. It can't be good."
He's clinging tight to the egg that contains another slumbering god. He carries it always, and sometimes he holds it to keep it warm. "I wonder...if we have to prove ourselves worthy of being the defenders it was searching for."
no subject
"But I know a thing or two about facing down a reflection of yourself that you might find worrisome or troublesome. If there's anything we Spiders know about loss and pain, it's seeking understanding in what comes next. Accepting that everyone needs to find a way to cope and move on." added Peni with a little smile.
Peni considered Seto's words for a moment before saying, "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility. My dad used to say that a lot. It's why I'm a superhero now. It's not about having just great power that makes you strong, or great responsibility that makes you responsible for everything around you. But it's combining the two to make sure that you can lean on someone when you need them the most."
no subject
"I used to crave power for its own sake. I wielded it to suit my desires or protect my brother, but I never cared much about the implications of what I did. I no longer have that power, but...if I did..."
He sighs. "The hardest change has been learning to accept help. I hate that our fates are in each other's hands...how do you let go?"

Zahra | Away Team
Necro senses it first.
In an uncharacteristic display of genuine empathy, the Eevee stays curled up next to Zahra for the two days that they lie unconscious, purring and gently trying to nudge their trainer back to wakefulness.
On the second day, the Pokémon's eyes snap open, and Necro pounces on Zahra's chest, nuzzling their face... moments before Zahra awakens.
"N... Necro?"
The Eevee yips with happiness, bouncing to and fro, actually smiling- then they're swallowed by a blue glow and evolve into a shiny Sylveon before the eyes of Zahra's friends.
Zahra stares at the Pokémon for a moment, mutters something under their breath, "Trans rights," then laughs and hugs Necro.
After a few moments Zahra's smile fades, and they collapse back onto their bed, staring at the ceiling.
"I'm sorry." Their voice is broken.
b. Open
Zahra sits atop one of the tallest buildings, legs dangling over the edge. They have a blue popsicle in their hands as they watch the sun set contemplatively. They look... troubled.
Somebody should probably talk to them.
no subject
He happens to be there, but dozing, when they wake---but that sparkle of an evolving Eevee wakes him up quickly. He blinks at the scene before him, and there's a flicker across his face that's definitely a smile before he listens and sobers up.
"Something caused it," he says simply. "What happened to you?"
no subject
taken to hiding under their bed. Whether or not this was realized before, it's made pretty obvious when the Ring-Spirit crawls back out now. He looks exhausted, beyond simply 'hasn't slept since arrival'. (Though that also being a thing hasn't helped.)
"...The Puzzle. Whatever happened to it is what set all that off. Where is it."
no subject
"Puzzle included." They gulp, holding back tears. "Noa was in there, how could I have let this happen, I was supposed to protect him, I, I-"
Zahra is no longer holding back tears. Sobbing, they throw themself towards the Ring-Spirit and Seto, wrapping both of them up in a hug. "I'm so sorry I'm so sorry I'm so sorry"
no subject
He's less sure about this hug business, especially next to the spirit (why was he under the bed? Weirdo.) but holds on to both of them, patting their backs awkwardly.
"Once we go back. I've scavenged the pieces and reassembled the puzzle once before. I can do it again."

Away Team...wait, what?!
A girl riding on a wheelchair being pushed by a Mr. Mime wandered the peaceful streets, everything calming down after the initial kerfluffle. Curiosity had gotten the better of her and she was busy pondering if she should go see if everything was okay...
Of course, she was still wandering, so she could easy be caught by others.
Re: Away Team...wait, what?!
The answering dialtone was nothing he wasn't used to by now, and he sighed a little as he finished his food with a bite before dusting off his hands and crumpling the paper. In the crowd of colorful people, between Ace Trainers and Swimmers and others, he noticed the girl in the wheelchair with the Mr. Mime. Now that stood out to him. She was definitely not a local, no matter how you swung it.
Getting up, he walked over to where they were standing and waved. "Hey. New here too?" he asked sipping his drink. "I wasn't aware this world was big on dimension travel other than the people here."
no subject
After a bit, she asked. "Do you know what was going on earlier? I heard a lot of commotion, so..."
no subject
"Tony Stark by the way. I doubt you recognize the face but I'm what they call a Faller. And if you Fell here into this world, then I'd imagine that Eternatus's power that keeps us usually out of this world is weakening."
no subject
"So, there's something else here causing this... I wonder..."

chase team - lets scouting
"Yan, Nin, see if you can scout around for any hints on where Glomgold might be...we won't let him get away this time!"
Seriously. He feels personally responsible for letting the duck slip out of his hands like greased lightning.
Re: chase team - lets scouting
Gladion was off doing Gladion things, trusting the mighty Solgaleo to watch over Lillie as she noticed Sena down below.
Landing down nearby him, she called out, "Did you find anything so far, Sena?" Snowy in her arms cooed curiously.
no subject
"No luck so far...but a guy like that, we'll definitely find some kinda clue left behind!"
Seriously. Glomgold was many things, but subtle was definitely not one of them. He sighs a bit in consternation.
"Still, though, it's a relief to have you and Gladion with us, though."
huh, really?
