Season 2, Episode 4.2 - Dawn of the Second Day

“Today’s meeting is in order,” said the man at the front of the table as the assembled members, staff, Champions and representatives sat down. “We’re all here to discuss the situation our two governments have proposed. Commander Morrison, you have the table.”
Jack Morrison stood at the circular table, clearing his throat. “Thank you Councilman. I am Jack Morrison, Commander of Overwatch. Our Earth’s government has requested that due to the state of the interdimensional flux, coupled with numerous intrusions of Pokemon, Ultra Beasts and the consistency of Team Rainbow Rocket incidents incurring on Alola, it can no longer, in good faith provide aid without a means of reparation. Our requests are as follows:
Article 1: Return of the Overwatch Members, Staff and Aid on site in Melemele Island effective as of January 15th.
Article 2: Access to Aether Foundation Research and Development on Interdimensional Travel, and Technology.
Article 3: Access to the Inter-spacial items known as Arceus Plates, and securing them for study in the Overwatch Technological Bay.”
At the end of the last bit, several members looked ready to protest as Jack laid down the folder. The man looked older than expected, a veteran of years and he seemed very much pained despite his order.
“Thank you Commander Morrison. The terms have been heard. A retort?”
“A retort is probably a bit of an understatement.” came the voice of Cynthia. “Access to the Arceus Plates would simply not do. These items are of interest towards those who worship Arceus itself and find the idea of those who were deemed unchosen to hold them to be… sacrilegious? Might be a bit harsh, but still…”
“Please, they’re just power generators,” scoffed one of the Representatives, a weedy man with a thin face and red hair. This made several of the Sinnoh reps beat their hands on the table angrily. “I’m only saying the truth! One of those could power an energy station for centuries and you’re just letting it whittle away in a church!”
“Representative Justin Hammer, that is clearly out of line,” said the officiary.
Justin Hammer shrugged. “Glomgold sees it my way.”
“Ye darn right I do!” Glomgold said. “Half of the stuff Aether is keeping locked up could do anything! I mean, even that ridiculous boot those soldiers brought back has enough power to light up a town and the one who wore it pretends to be a ‘superhero’!”
“We are not going to start converting everything those Fallers have into oddball power sources.” Cynthia said, sighing.
“And why the hell not.” said Justin, scowling. “I can do it. I have the tech, the means, I’m smarter than the Tony Stark they have on staff, I made all of those troopers, I can outwit anything they throw at us!”
“You’re out of line Rep Hammer, cool down,” said the officiary and Hammer bit down but sat down, if angrily.
Jack stood up again, trying to smooth over the situation. “Overwatch was meant to be a peacekeeping group. It’s in our charter, but this… this is out of line, even for us, and I take full responsibility.”
“If you intend on taking full responsibility, Mr. Morrison, then perhaps alternate plans are in order.” came the voice of Lance, Kanto’s champion. “We simply have no idea what will happen if the items are removed from this world. It could go far beyond than simple angry protests.”
“Eh, consequences, schmonsequences…” Glomgold said, dismissing Lance’s warning.
“You can’t honestly mean that!” Exclaimed a young voice from the side, Unova’s newest and most recent Champion, Iris who stood up, slamming her hands on the table. “I’ve seen what happens when a Legendary is upset! It can cause a whole lot of trouble, right Ash?”
“I’m gonna have to agree with Iris,” said Ash, nodding. “I’ve seen, battled, rode on, and commanded too many Legendaries into battle to even think of trying such a stunt. Even Arceus himself at his full strength is a frightening thing to have at your fingertips. Imagine what would happen if someone had half his power to run a city, let alone a third of it.”
Glomgold’s response? Daydreaming. Cackling like a loon at the idea.
“He’s a lost cause…” Cynthia said, sighing.
Flint, Sinnoh’s own Elite Four member, folded his hands. “What do you intend to do, Commander Morrison? You want to make amends, and yet you’ve been stonewalling us. What is it that you really want?”
Jack looked at the group of Champions, earnest eyes peering at them. “It was never our intent to occupy Alola, or force your people out. We were here to help, much like we said.”
“So?” asked Flint. “Why now? This seems sudden. To go about things so quickly.”
Jack seemed reluctant to reply, but then suddenly, Justin tossed a pencil on the table loudly. “Oh this dramatic tension! It brings tears to my eyes! You want to know the reason why he’s been forced to do this? It’s because his own best friend went MIA in a mission in your world. That’s right! And now his government wants to blame YOU ALL for it! Ain’t that great! My people, want to hold your people, responsible for the missing case of Gabriel Reyes… leader of Blackwatch.”
“And suddenly it all makes sense…” Cynthia mused. “Lose someone and demand a disproportionate consolation for it. This isn’t a means to work to further a goal, this is downright extortion!”
“Aye, and it’s quite glorious, too!” Glomgold said. “Needless to say, I don’t think there’s really any way to get around this. Matter of fact…!”
With that, the duck hops on the table, snapping his fingers. From the doors behind him and Hammer spilled out numerous other soldiers, wearing much more advanced Pokermors than before.
“I, Flintheart Glomgold, am taking over this operation as head of Blackwatch! Boys, it’s time to put away a bunch of champions!” the duck said. “Oh, and don’t think these are like the old ones, they’re much more stronger - you can thank your precious Guardians for that!” This was quickly met with the sounds of Pokeballs releasing various Pokemon to face them down.
“Ash, Iris!” Cynthia called out. “Take Mr. Morrison and get back to Alola! Warn Lusamine and the others we’ve been had!”
“No way, we can’t--!” Iris began to protest before Ash grabbed her arm.
“No time! Let’s go!” Ash said, leading the two out. As they left, they could hear Glomgold gloating in victory as Champions and Blackwatch soldiers begin their fight.

Once they landed, Friday sent out a pulse which deadened their footsteps as Tony scanned the keyless entry and the door slid open. Taking a moment to interface with the computer he said, "There's Blackwatch soldiers headed down, two flights. We can either take the elevator like idiots or I can fly you down the service hatch. Choices?"
no subject
"Whatever the case, let's hurry."

Scooping Kaiba up by shoulders, he took off down the service shaft and landed quickly, to make sure to be as quick and swift about it as possible. Turning off the alarms as they landed to keep their entry as quiet as possible, Tony slid his helmet off, the nanotech crawling away from his face as they entered the Ultra Launch Bay.
Inside, the six remaining Arceus Plates were -- humming. As if sensing the entire terrifying tableau happening outside. "That's not good," said Tony, moving to the computer console and activating it. "Give me a hand with this, Kaiba. We got to keep these from turning on."
no subject
"They're reacting to the storm out there. We have to cut off the signal."
And he's going to attempt to do just that, throwing up every wall he can find.
no subject
"Friday get a lock on whatever's causing the Plates to be amplified!"
"Working on it boss."
"Stark! Kaiba!" Exclaimed a voice from behind them as Faba landed in the lift. "It's crazy out there, Aether's under evacuation, Lusamine's ordered a complete escape."
"Can't escape now green bean, we've gotta get these plates under control or we'll all be kissing the inside of another reality in about three minutes." said Tony. "Goddamnit, these readings are still spiking. Kaiba, do you have anything on your end? Faba, give us a hand here!"
no subject
Kaiba frantically processes the readings, eyes scanning over them in the hopes that there's the slightest clue.
"These effects are likely being caused by Pokémon, right? Do we have any with the ability to isolate the plates or put them on ice, so to speak?"
As he's speaking, a very naughty Kisara pops out of her ball. Her tail and ears twitch as she senses the bad vibes in the air, and she races over, eyes flashing as if she's considering trying something.
"Kisara, get back here! They're unstable enough as-is!"
no subject
"Green Bean what's it doing?" yelped Tony as he tried to keep the alarms from screaming.
"The Arceus Plate's activated! Kaiba, I think your Pokemon can hold onto that Plate! Get her to pick it up before the discharge fries everything in the building!" And Faba yelped as sparks flew from the console.

She seems to instinctively understand that this is important and grabs on.
"Drat. How much time to detonation?"
no subject
"Would mine do?" asked a small voice from beside Tony and Tony whirled at the sight of Peni who grinned but was hard at work at the controls. "You said you needed help right?"
"I'm not even going to ask how you got here Peni, but between the four of us we should get this under control. Start rerouting all the systems through the main energy siphon, lets get these plates under control!"
