Season 2, Episode 4.2 - Dawn of the Second Day

“Today’s meeting is in order,” said the man at the front of the table as the assembled members, staff, Champions and representatives sat down. “We’re all here to discuss the situation our two governments have proposed. Commander Morrison, you have the table.”
Jack Morrison stood at the circular table, clearing his throat. “Thank you Councilman. I am Jack Morrison, Commander of Overwatch. Our Earth’s government has requested that due to the state of the interdimensional flux, coupled with numerous intrusions of Pokemon, Ultra Beasts and the consistency of Team Rainbow Rocket incidents incurring on Alola, it can no longer, in good faith provide aid without a means of reparation. Our requests are as follows:
Article 1: Return of the Overwatch Members, Staff and Aid on site in Melemele Island effective as of January 15th.
Article 2: Access to Aether Foundation Research and Development on Interdimensional Travel, and Technology.
Article 3: Access to the Inter-spacial items known as Arceus Plates, and securing them for study in the Overwatch Technological Bay.”
At the end of the last bit, several members looked ready to protest as Jack laid down the folder. The man looked older than expected, a veteran of years and he seemed very much pained despite his order.
“Thank you Commander Morrison. The terms have been heard. A retort?”
“A retort is probably a bit of an understatement.” came the voice of Cynthia. “Access to the Arceus Plates would simply not do. These items are of interest towards those who worship Arceus itself and find the idea of those who were deemed unchosen to hold them to be… sacrilegious? Might be a bit harsh, but still…”
“Please, they’re just power generators,” scoffed one of the Representatives, a weedy man with a thin face and red hair. This made several of the Sinnoh reps beat their hands on the table angrily. “I’m only saying the truth! One of those could power an energy station for centuries and you’re just letting it whittle away in a church!”
“Representative Justin Hammer, that is clearly out of line,” said the officiary.
Justin Hammer shrugged. “Glomgold sees it my way.”
“Ye darn right I do!” Glomgold said. “Half of the stuff Aether is keeping locked up could do anything! I mean, even that ridiculous boot those soldiers brought back has enough power to light up a town and the one who wore it pretends to be a ‘superhero’!”
“We are not going to start converting everything those Fallers have into oddball power sources.” Cynthia said, sighing.
“And why the hell not.” said Justin, scowling. “I can do it. I have the tech, the means, I’m smarter than the Tony Stark they have on staff, I made all of those troopers, I can outwit anything they throw at us!”
“You’re out of line Rep Hammer, cool down,” said the officiary and Hammer bit down but sat down, if angrily.
Jack stood up again, trying to smooth over the situation. “Overwatch was meant to be a peacekeeping group. It’s in our charter, but this… this is out of line, even for us, and I take full responsibility.”
“If you intend on taking full responsibility, Mr. Morrison, then perhaps alternate plans are in order.” came the voice of Lance, Kanto’s champion. “We simply have no idea what will happen if the items are removed from this world. It could go far beyond than simple angry protests.”
“Eh, consequences, schmonsequences…” Glomgold said, dismissing Lance’s warning.
“You can’t honestly mean that!” Exclaimed a young voice from the side, Unova’s newest and most recent Champion, Iris who stood up, slamming her hands on the table. “I’ve seen what happens when a Legendary is upset! It can cause a whole lot of trouble, right Ash?”
“I’m gonna have to agree with Iris,” said Ash, nodding. “I’ve seen, battled, rode on, and commanded too many Legendaries into battle to even think of trying such a stunt. Even Arceus himself at his full strength is a frightening thing to have at your fingertips. Imagine what would happen if someone had half his power to run a city, let alone a third of it.”
Glomgold’s response? Daydreaming. Cackling like a loon at the idea.
“He’s a lost cause…” Cynthia said, sighing.
Flint, Sinnoh’s own Elite Four member, folded his hands. “What do you intend to do, Commander Morrison? You want to make amends, and yet you’ve been stonewalling us. What is it that you really want?”
Jack looked at the group of Champions, earnest eyes peering at them. “It was never our intent to occupy Alola, or force your people out. We were here to help, much like we said.”
“So?” asked Flint. “Why now? This seems sudden. To go about things so quickly.”
Jack seemed reluctant to reply, but then suddenly, Justin tossed a pencil on the table loudly. “Oh this dramatic tension! It brings tears to my eyes! You want to know the reason why he’s been forced to do this? It’s because his own best friend went MIA in a mission in your world. That’s right! And now his government wants to blame YOU ALL for it! Ain’t that great! My people, want to hold your people, responsible for the missing case of Gabriel Reyes… leader of Blackwatch.”
“And suddenly it all makes sense…” Cynthia mused. “Lose someone and demand a disproportionate consolation for it. This isn’t a means to work to further a goal, this is downright extortion!”
“Aye, and it’s quite glorious, too!” Glomgold said. “Needless to say, I don’t think there’s really any way to get around this. Matter of fact…!”
With that, the duck hops on the table, snapping his fingers. From the doors behind him and Hammer spilled out numerous other soldiers, wearing much more advanced Pokermors than before.
“I, Flintheart Glomgold, am taking over this operation as head of Blackwatch! Boys, it’s time to put away a bunch of champions!” the duck said. “Oh, and don’t think these are like the old ones, they’re much more stronger - you can thank your precious Guardians for that!” This was quickly met with the sounds of Pokeballs releasing various Pokemon to face them down.
“Ash, Iris!” Cynthia called out. “Take Mr. Morrison and get back to Alola! Warn Lusamine and the others we’ve been had!”
“No way, we can’t--!” Iris began to protest before Ash grabbed her arm.
“No time! Let’s go!” Ash said, leading the two out. As they left, they could hear Glomgold gloating in victory as Champions and Blackwatch soldiers begin their fight.
LIGHTS OUT
"Really, guys? When Jenny's in the bathroom? Classy." Zahra stares down the two Overwatch troopers in front of them with cold eyes, slowly gets up... and throws their chair into one's face, using their other hand to throw out a standard ball and a Premier Ball. "Horakhty. Hideo. Let's go."
But what's this? The Toxel, trembling, stands on two feet and snarls at the two troopers, her entire body glowing and changing and growing until... from the dust, the outline of an Amped Toxtricity can be seen alongside that of a Type: Null.
Aaaaaand said Toxtricity immediately begins blaring "Lights Out" by Mindless Self Indulgence from her speakers.
This is what we're doing then. Okay.
that's what we ALL call entertainment
These troopers are better trained than the mooks from before, and their partner swiftly moves to cover them - but then the Ring-Spirit pounces out of a bush (how long was he in there, why was he in there) and gets the second one into a chokehold. But can he maintain it?
...The Spirit is more interested in fiddling with the trooper's armor-fastenings than a proper fight.

"Horakhty, Tri-Attack, target two."
The Blackwatch soldier's partner reaches for their Pokéballs... only to get Frozen by Horakhty's Tri-Attack for a few moments, giving Zahra and the Spirit some breathing room. Zahra fishes around in their pockets, pauses, finds something, gets out a toolkit, and tosses the spirit a wrench.

He's caught off-guard by the incoming wrench. It's not that it hits him, so much as it takes him a couple grabs to establish a proper grip on it. The Carnivine-trooper takes advantage of the moment, twisting in the loosened hold. He manages to land a blow to the Spirit's shoulder, eliciting angered hissing in response. The trooper next reaches for his pokeballs, unaware of Necro's theft.
The mimikyu hesitates, unsure which trooper to target.

"Are you planning on actually getting to work on that armor with my wrench, or are you just gonna stand there gawking like a dumbass?"
no subject
It's not like he has to worry about running out of troopers though, so what the hell. Maybe the fastenings will make more sense after he's busted some apart and looked over the interior. He uses the wrench to thwack the downed trooper's helmet off... Ring-Spirit do you just not know how to use a wrench, what,,
The mimikyu decides to go for the frozen trooper before the status effect wears off, and whacks the trooper in the shins with her 'tail'. ...Shockingly enough, this does nothing useful whatsoever.
Re: LIGHTS OUT
But then, suddenly...
"Such lackluster spirit, all of you."
A massive, terrifying presence swept through the area as a crimson blade flashed and everything was bowled over. A tall man, eyes glowing red stood there, a katana, no, a single Mega-Evolved Aegislash in his hands was being sheathed like a samurai sword as it returned to his side.
Zenos yae Galvus, had arrived, even within his Elezen form. Deprived of his original form, he was weaker, yes, but no less powerful.
Bored out of his mind at the chaos around him, he tilted his head. "A spirit and a child, fused as one. My how the tables seem to turn, doesn't it? Tell me... for what do you fight for child?"
Zenos yae Galvus wants to battle!

Zahra, thoroughly unimpressed by Zenos's antics, gives him an annoyed glare. Somewhere in between his dramatic sword sweep and them stepping over the unconscious body of a Blackwatch soldier, the Millenium Puzzle vanished from their neck.
"And no, I don't think I will. Normally, I adore giving speeches about the power of friendship and how Alola must be united, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it would be lost on you."
Zahra whistles, and Necro dashes out of the darkness, forming a Shadow Ball and launching it at the Aegislash, then deftly dodging its retaliation. The Puzzle gleams around their neck as they smirk with a surprising amount of malice for something so small and cute.
"We both know you're here to fight, ponyboy. So let's save the dramatic monologues for after one of us wins, yeah?"

And then everything around them was cut into pieces, armor, buildings, trees, pokeballs, clothing -- including the Millennium Puzzle which shattered into its component parts. "Have you met my true partner?" asked Zenos, completely bored. "He was so interested in my sword, he cut it in half. And then decided he wanted to cut more of it. Wouldn't you agree... Kartana..."
And a literal Ultra Beast floated into view, it's razor sharp hands lowering to the side as it muttered in satisfaction at cutting everything to pieces.
Zenos turned, Kartana floating by his side. "Call me again when you regain the fire in your eyes little one. I do so want to battle again."

Zahra falls to their knees, desperately picking up the pieces of the puzzle. No no no no no nonononononoNO he had to be okay he had to he had to be
Trembling, they glare up at Zenos, mustering what little anger can overtake their fear. "You better fucking believe we're going to have a rematch, you jackass. I'm going to tear you to pieces and let the Mandibuzz feast on your fucking entrails."
There's nothing hollow to their threat. Zahra truly means it.
