Episode 1 Followup: Cleanups And Questions

Today dawns on Melemele as clean up crews are hard at work in the morning, cleaning up the damage from the Dynamax Raid. Thanks to the efforts of the Fallers who have dealt with the thief who has tried to get away with his thefts, he has been detained for questioning.

At the Precinct there is Namu who has been called in from Ula'Ula to press him, as well as Jenny. If you want to ask Brodie questions, see if they'll give you a chance to press the thief for questions.

At the Docks there are various Machoke and Machamp along with Hala and his Pokemon working tirelessly to repair the buildings. You can help with clean up.

The Aether Foundation is also finding homes for the displaced local Pokemon who call the local area their homes, and if you wish to help them, Wicke is helping them all out. If you wish to help them, please go ahead.

Finally, while Viren might not be in a good mood for his warehouse being damaged, he is grateful for the assistance for any Fallers who might recover any of his treasures who have sunk to the ocean floor.

"It's okay!" Exclaimed Ash, coming along the way with his own Pokemon, carrying various stuff in hand. "Oh hey Sena! You're here to help too?"

Ash was helping out in his own way, his various Pokemon carrying his things too.

Ash can't be that much shorter than Sena, and yet...how is he carrying so much more...

Oh, whatever. Sena's used to everyone being stronger than him, so he just readjusts what's carrying so he doesn't drop it.

"Yeah, well...since Hala was going to help out, I figured I'd come along, you know? Besides, we kinda ended up contributing to this mess..."

What with...accidentally knocking the giant Skarmory into a building, and all.

Yeah that variable strength of his was kind of ballistic wasn't it? And yet, he grinned as he placed a pile of broken lumber down onto the pile.

"Yeah, same here. I feel bad since I didn't help out at all at all. So I figured I should help out and all."

"Pika," replied Pikachu as his Pokemon agreed. "So we're helping out as best we can, right all?" said Ash to the cheers of his Pokemon.

"Yeah, I mean...I haven't battled properly in a while, so it feels pretty bad that I let that guy's other Pokemon get away..."

Sigh. He's supposed to be the speedy guy on the team. Real good at chasing other people down, and all that. But you know, training Pokemon for football and for battling end up just different enough that he's not sure if he's excelling at either.

"So I guess we're in the same boat, huh?"

[acmellash]

"Yeah, probably," admitted Ash with a sheepish grin. "At least everything's being cleaned up and coming together properly. We won't be seeing too much damage and that Viren guy's stopped shouting for now."

He frowned a little. "I wonder what's going on with that guy though. I hadn't seen Brodie in ages. Not since, gosh, Hoenn."

"That guy was...kinda overbearing..."

Not that he isn't used to overbearing, but still...

"You're saying that guy came all the way from Hoenn?"

Weird.

"Why would he come all the way here just to do petty crimes? Hoenn's pretty far from here, isn't it?"

In the end, isn't it just basic robbery? Maybe it's from a whole high school career of dealing with Hiruma, but he can't help but feel that something's bigger behind these small actions. It's the kind of thing he'd do, something ridiculously out there just to test the waters, or plant seeds for something else...

"I really have no idea," replied Ash, scowling as he lifted a rock that had fallen on some crates. "Brodie was last seen trying to steal a trophy from a Contest, and fled the scene. I never saw him after that. I honestly never thought he would be here, literally turning his Ditto into a giant!"

Ash huffed. "IT makes no sense!"

How are you...lifting that. Sena's used to seeing that kind of display from Kurita, but Kurita's like...huge. anyways.

"What's that guy like, anyway? I didn't really get to see much of him, since that spider guy managed to catch him so quickly..."

[acmellash]

"I remember him being pretty arrogant," replied Ash, placing the rock onto the cart and going for a fallen piece of lumber.

"He was known as the man of a thousand faces, since he could disguise himself as anyone. When we first met him, it was myself, Brock, Max and May. We were at a weather station studying weather patterns when we met a group of scientists and a scientist named Millie, who was Brodie in disguise. The real Millie arrived shortly afterwards, but not before Brodie made his escape with some data for Team Magma."

"The man of a thousand faces...I guess that makes him having a Ditto a lot more sense..."

Sena can't really imagine a better Pokemon for a guy like that.

"So...you never actually saw him got captured by like...anyone? And what's Team Magma?"

Please don't tell him its anything like Team Galactic please don't -

"Yeah. Though I don't remember his DItto being imperfect like that. It could perfectly mimic Pokemon." remarked Ash thoughtfully.


"No, he just fled the scene last time I saw him. And Team Magma was a group who wanted to increase the land of the world. They were bad news."

"Maybe turning into something that huge threw it off, aha..."

Seriously. Skarmory aren't supposed to be that big. Yikes.

"...In...crease the what...?"

Hang on. Repeat that. Increase the land?

"Yeah, it might have..."

Ash nodded. "Using the power of Groudon, the local legendary. Although Team Aqua, the opposing team, was trying to create more water."

"Uh..."

This honestly sounds, in Hiruma's words, "fucking stupid." Somehow, his experiences with Team Galactic sound less...ridiculous...

"I'm...not sure what to say about that..."

"It was pretty crazy. I was pretty worried, right, Pikachu?" said Ash.

"Pika," replied Pikachu, nodding.

"I...I can imagine..."

He chuckles nervously.

"So you fought weirdos like that before, huh...wait, if that Brodie guy's around, doesn't that mean that Team Magma might be coming here?!"

"Well, they're pretty gone now, that's for sure," replied Ash, rubbing his head. "A lot of things happened and Team Magma and Aqua aren't around anymore. Brodie wasn't even wearing his Magma outfit either."

"O...oh...so I guess he's doing things like this on his own, huh..."

Weird guy.

"At least we don't have to deal with them now, huh..." ha hahaahahahahaha

"I guess? I mean, I'm glad Magma and Aqua are disbanded." replied Ash. "A lot of bad memories from that time there."

"Pika," replied Pikachu, nodding, and absently rubbing his belly.

"Haaah...I can imagine..."

Heavy sigh.

"If they're anything like how Team Galactic were, then there'd definitely be some bad memories..."

"Ugh, don't get me started on Team Galactic," replied Ash, bucking a log into the truck. "That was way too big of a mess."

"Hunh???"

At that, Sena starts.

"Wait, you mean Team Galactic was in this world, too?!"

wait that would make sense, right.

the team galactic he knows were able to grab sena and others from different worlds so surely they'd have operatives in other worlds too or something, right

"They were trying to destroy the Sinnoh Region, using the legendaries and the Spear Pillar, but the real situation was that Cyrus was trying to make a new world just for himself. Looker arrested the upper members of the team, and Cyrus, well..."

There's an implied, "he died" in there from Ash's face as he tossed a literal boulder onto the truck.

"The Team Galactic I know of...it was completely different...it sounds like you managed to nip them in the bud before things got really bad..."

"It was still bad," replied Ash. "Cyrus only thought of his own happiness, and didn't think of anyone else. He hurt a lot of people, just to get his own world."
