fallers_rpg | Episode 1 Followup: Cleanups And Questions

Today dawns on Melemele as clean up crews are hard at work in the morning, cleaning up the damage from the Dynamax Raid. Thanks to the efforts of the Fallers who have dealt with the thief who has tried to get away with his thefts, he has been detained for questioning.

At the Precinct there is Namu who has been called in from Ula'Ula to press him, as well as Jenny. If you want to ask Brodie questions, see if they'll give you a chance to press the thief for questions.

At the Docks there are various Machoke and Machamp along with Hala and his Pokemon working tirelessly to repair the buildings. You can help with clean up.

The Aether Foundation is also finding homes for the displaced local Pokemon who call the local area their homes, and if you wish to help them, Wicke is helping them all out. If you wish to help them, please go ahead.

Finally, while Viren might not be in a good mood for his warehouse being damaged, he is grateful for the assistance for any Fallers who might recover any of his treasures who have sunk to the ocean floor.

"Yes, I know. Yes, you did give me information. I suppose." Yotsuyu was more than a bit startled when the phone call had been for her--and equally startled to find Viren on the other end, but she had told him he could call her.

If he had more information. Which he did not. But he was yelling about his sunken treasures, and she did have an Oshawott, which was true. Yotsuyu was not about to let this drunken blowhard harm her precious Gosetsu, however.

"We may be able to help you, yes. I am not about to let him attempt to raise anything over what he can carry, however. So I do hope you have some sort of beacon so that your machinery or a stronger Pokemon can retrieve what he cannot. As it was not his fault in the first place that it was lost."

She was going to be absolutely firm on that.

"I need people to retrieve them," replied Viren. "They're worth thousands of Poke and I need them back! DO you realize how much they're worth?"

Viren was foaming, being the odious man he was, and Wicke was wearing a tired expression on her face as she was trying to figure out how to get him off Yotsuyu's back in the background.

She just gazed down at the odious little ball and narrowed her eyes. If she actually had her pipe with her, it was likely that Yotsuyu would have exhaled a cloud of smoke into his face, just to shut him up.

"I am here because I want to help you. Do not snap at me." Want might be a strong word, but he had called and she had answered--Yotsuyu was not at his beck and call, much as he might like her to be! Nor did she really care a whit about how much his treasures were worth. She might have an interest in getting them back to further Aether's popularity, however.

"Meanwhile, you underestimate these Pokemon, for one who has lived with them far longer than I." She glanced over at Wicke, arching an ebon brow. "Had we beacons, tell me, am I wrong in saying that Gosetsu could probably find these valuable items, for recovery by either stronger Pokemon, or humans, as he desires?" While Yotsuyu is grateful for Wicke's presence, she doesn't precisely need the woman's help to handle Viren--however, if she can answer Yotsuyu's question, that would be all to the good.

"Gosetsu could, but there are Pokemon who are better suited for this sort of work in the region, some who are much more stronger in stature."

Viren opened his mouth on the screen to continue but Wicked barreled on. "Of course they could, which is to say the Aether Foundation, while not responsible for the damages, have been working tirelessly to rehome the displaced pokemon in the attack." replied Wicke. "However, make this one thing clear Mr. Viren: These Pokemon are not meant to be your indentured servants, or to be bought as manual labor. They are people of this planet, just like us and afforded the same rights."

"Even if they are small, oddly shaped people." Yotsuyu had to agree with that--the Pokemon she has met so far certainly seemed clever enough. Which was one of the reasons she'd suggested Gosetsu in the first place--she felt he was quite clever enough to do what she asked of him. But equally, she didn't want to endanger him, either. So Wicke forbidding him from the mission was fine by her.

"So, the conclusion of this mission is obviously the return of your goods as expediently as possible, my lord Viren. Lady Wicke, how can we make this happen so that we all are pleased with the outcome?"

Viren grumbled a little as Wicke smiled. "Why we have echo locators of course! If Gosetsu leads a team down into the waters edge, then we can slap on echo locators and more trained diving professionals can retrieve Viren's things. Wouldn't that make more sense?"

"I suppose," said Viren, grumbling. "Only if my stuff is returned!"

"That make sense?" said Wicke, pleasantly.

"It is perfectly sensible to me, yes. Though 'tis not as if Gosetsu would be averse to leading them to some of the items at a higher depth level. It should give the divers a sense of where to go. An idea of where Viren's belongings are located. Thus, it should make things easier for our divers, and lessen the time it takes for retrieval, I should think."

Yotsuyu believed that her Oshawott was perfectly capable of doing these things, even if Wicke was a bit reticent about the whole thing.
