Episode 1: A Stranger In Familiar!

Today on Melemele, there has been a strange and rash sequence of events!

Officer Jenny has been busy, as a series of thefts has been noted across the city. The wealthy industrialist Viren has been targeted several times with valuables relating to the Pokemon Groudon.

As researchers are coming into the town today to help work on the Ultra Hole situation, on invite of the Aether Foundation, it seems that someone might have slipped through into the town. A certain woman in green might have been spotted in several of Viren's locations before a theft has been seen.

Some people might be starting to get uneasy about the influx of people. Perhaps it's time to investigate some of these rumors that a thief might have made their way onto the island...

Viren vs. Yotsuyu--GO!

[This is all very curious. While Yotsuyu knows very little about the Alolan isles, still, she was in charge of an entire country herself, once. Despite the fact that it was ruled by her iron fist in a velvet glove, that experience has served her well in the past, and she hopes it serves her well now.

She chooses to speak to Viran herself--truly, she is simply an innocent Faller, new to the realm, with the purity of good in her heart. Were anyone from her past here, they would laugh. But Yotsuyu has ever been cunning, and it entertains her to think she can pit her intellect and wit against those of this thief. So for once, she tosses her hat in the ring on the side of good.]

Pray tell, my good sir, had you noticed anything...strange, before your items went missing? New faces? Odd happenstances? Something that may have acted as a distraction?

[Viren had so graciously accepted the talk, from a most humble Faller as herself. A esteemed guest from the most wealthy Lusamine, President of Aether Corporation, he couldn't turn her down.

Leaning back in his chair and swirling his wine, he scowled.]

I noticed that several times when I arrived to work, people would say that a lovely lady in a green dress would arrive on scene, looking around, being all interested in my stuff. So they would give her a tour. You know, be the bigger man and all, I even gave her a tour myself! She was real interested in my solid gold statue of me!

And you had never seen her before, my lord? [Old habits died hard, and it certainly couldn't hurt that Yotsuyu has fallen into the dialect of servitude.] Should you see her again, could you pick her out in a crowd?

Was she interested in your other valuables as well? The statue itself has not been taken, correct?

[Taking notes--as meticulously as she can, now.] Is something now missing in all the locations where she appeared and received a tour? Or only some, as if this individual chose specific things that they desired? I do not intend to rub salt in your wounds by any means, I am hoping that by practically scouring your memory, I might unearth something that a mere once-over might miss. I pray you understand.

Hmmm... [Viren leaned back and frowned, folding his arms.]

Come to think about it... she was real interested in the new Legendary Pokemon Collection I just got. I paid a fortune for this stuff to have it shipped here from Hoenn. They said it was dug up from an old Team Magma Base, and I paid out the nose to have it here.

[Yotsuyu did not know much about the islands, yet, but she had been learning about the various Teams that had gotten up to mischief in the past. Magma had been one of them. Her lip twitched but a moment, and she schooled her look of disdain to one of distant interest. But didn't he think it had been stolen? Ugh.]

Team Magma, you say? They are defunct now, yes? As I am new here...could you pray tell me why there might be interest in such a thing? Please? There are no other teams that might be springing up, sending an operative to...pilfer your new collection?

They disbanded years ago. Dunno what happened to them. Some say that Kyogre and Groudon rose from their slumber and wrecked havoc in their region and some trainer stopped them. But I don't give a damn about that. All I care about is my stuff not being messed with. But, with all these ex-members coming in from their ranks from their scientists being all "reformed" [and at this he wiggled his fingers in quotation marks] Bah! Bah I say!

Here, c'mon I'll show you.

[Getting up, he went over to the vault, keyed, opened it, and showed off the collection in the room where there was a huge pile of loot, all displayed in a room. There was a lot of high quality polished things; statues, golden figures, pieces of old treasure. And there was a cracked blue orb that was literally taped together.]

This is everything that the lady was scoping out. Normally it's downstairs in the display cases, but when she started poking around, we brought it up to the vault. I was going to toss the orb though, even though its made of Sapphire, it's worthless now if it's just a chunk. Here.

[And he plucked it from it's casing and handed it to Yotsuyu. You sense that it is Very Important.] Take it. As a gift. It's still worth a penny. At least five mill Poke.

I do understand being skeptical about one's reformation. [Oh, how dry she was being now. As her own 'reformation', as it were, was still in question! So far Gosetsu has been staying close to her, but he strays a bit around the room now, and she glances at him, briefly.]

Do not get into trouble here in Lord Viren's place, Gosetsu. We are working. We shall play later, if you like. [She would have carried him, but she still has not found a proper way to write and do so at the same time. Her next comment is more for form's sake--she can tell this sphere is important, but Being a Delicate Lady demands a certain form!]

Oh, my lord--are you certain? It may not be whole any more, but sapphires that large cannot be that commonplace...if you are sure, believe me, I am grateful for your kindness! [She will wait for it to be offered again, but Yotsuyu will accept it, with dainty grace, and bestow upon him a smile.]

Troublemakers. Aether recruits from all of those old "Teams" all the time, and I wonder if we're just scooping up all of those big brains of theirs.

[He smirked.] Keep it. As payment for a good time tonight with a lovely lady. [He said, waving his fan in his hand.]

You have my thanks, my lord. Both for your cooperation, and your generosity. [He gets a very proper Eastern bow from Yotsuyu, then.]

Should you have need to contact me again, you may ask for Yotsuyu Naeuri at the Aether Corporation; I do not precisely work there, of course, but as a Faller, I am under the...observation? Care? of President Lusamine and her family. [Nor does she have anything with her like a cell phone or a tomesphone to be in contact with her, yet. Or even a Pokedex, for that matter. Though whether that is a contact device or not, she is uncertain. She knows linkpearls. These are not that.]

In case we have missed anything, of course. [She tucks her notebook and the sphere itself in a pouch at her belt, closes it, and leans down slightly.] Come, Gosetsu. We have taken up enough of this good man's time. Lord Viren, I do thank you again for your help!
