Stopping Holiday Cheer?

Christmas is coming, everyone is getting into the holiday spirit and... someone's doing their best trying to stop a part of it?

If you were watching any time today, you'd find a strange sight - Dawn sitting on Yuzu's shoulders and guiding her across Melemele taking down... mistletoe? Now, what would anyone want to do that? Oh, sure there's more than normal, but mistletoe's harmless... right?

"Steady, Yuzu. Steady!" Dawn called out, having Piplup work on getting some mistletoe down.

"Why didn't you get that Buzzswole thing to help us?" Yuzu griped.

"It didn't want to and Piplup refused to tell him to!" Dawn said.

"Pip!" the penguin replied. It worked off the mistletoe and dropped it on the ground.

"And that's another one down. Boy, we got so many more around here..." Dawn said, sighing in annoyance. "Whoever put all of these up thought they were funny, I bet."

Kaiba fully supports this endeavor. He takes one look at the offending plants, groans, and immediately reaches for a claw grip. He'll help the girls rip them down.

"More like they thought watching us squirm would be funny," he grumbled, stomping one into the ground and moving along to the next. "Here. If we all work at it they'll be out of our hair soon."

He's actually cooperating with someone! Without having to be told! Hatred of mushy rituals is the one thing that drives him, then.

"Mistletoe at parties is one thing, but this is way too much!" Dawn said. "Crushing them might be a bit too much."

"At this point, I don't mind!" Yuzu said, laughing a bit.

"Ugh. Thanks for the reminder to avoid the parties."

His Pokémon are too short to be of much use, but they're following along with curious expressions. He rips down another and another.

"We have work to do and this isn't helping. One kiss and people tend to turn into fools."

"Kissing isn't that bad." Yuzu admits. "But, I'd rather it be with someone I know, not... I dunno, stuck under the mistletoe while each and every boy and girl wants a smooch."

"Eugh, agreed!" Dawn said, blanching.

"Ha. Well I doubt anyone would dare try it with me," he snorted. Warm and cuddly he was not. And he definitely wasn't a relationships guy.

"But if you want to wish someone well and mean it, you don't need a parasitic plant to tell you to do it."

He gleefully rips down a few more, snorting.

"Don't jinx yourself." Dawn warned. "You say that now, but you'd turn around and find people running up to you wanting to show some sort of affection."

"Not with my frozen heart," he shook his head...but after a moment he gently took one of the plants down, carefully handing to to her.

"But if you're interested, you should keep one. If there's someone specific you're waiting for...you could always pop it on the doorway and lay a trap."

Dawn blinked at what Kaiba did before smiling. “Thanks. I might not have a special someone, but I do have an idea or two just in case.”

"...then go for it. At least one person should enjoy themselves today."

He smirks and turns back to his work, ripping down another few. As long as the nuisance doesn't take over the entire town, they're probably good.

"Oh hey mistletoe!" Exclaimed Mirio, walking up with a crate of leppa berries in his arms. "Need any help?"

"Please? If anything there is WAY too much mistletoe around here. Need to cull it a bit. Like a lot."

"It really is a lot to be honest." Mirio set down his crate and reached up to a higher sprig to unfasten it from where it was hanging.

"Seems like someone went overboard. Don't worry, Master Oranguru isn't expecting me back for a little while anyhow so I can help out here."

“Thanks, Mirio. The more hands, the better!” Dawn replied.

"Hey no problem. To be honest this is a lot of work. What happened to the Buzzswole that you guys caught?" asked Mirio curiously as he let out Riolu who stretched and looked up at the mistletoe.

"C'mon buddy, let's help them out."

"Lu," said Riolu, deciding to help out as well.
