Okay, Utau was slender. She worked hard at projecting a certain image as a singer and teen pop idol. What most people seemed to presume was that that sort of a career choice went hand in hand with starving to death. Not the case. Utau worked HARD. Constantly practicing. And this lead to a body that needed a lot of fuel. She was the one you would never bet on in a pie eating contest that could eat everyone else under the table. That was wonderful when she was a top selling star who did work on the side for Easter. Out on her own it brought Starving Artist to new heights. But she refused to take charity. She claimed it was because of her pride and played it off that way. And that was part of it. But the rest? She knew how much she ate and she would eat whoever offered to treat her into the poor house. So she was going to work for her money. And that meant singing.
So she asked if she could perform outside, and borrowed a to-go container. She weighted the container with some stones so that it wouldn't blow away, and then took her place between it and the wall.
For those who could see magical things/spirits, for any pokemon, for any children under the age of 4, they would see what looked like a floating angel doll and a floating devil doll beside her, one over either shoulder. The little angel would give a bright smile and those same people would see miniature angel wings sprout from her back to the sides like a fashion accessory.
To everyone else she would seem to simply take a deep breath and center herself.
And then she would sing. The first song had no specific words, just vocalizations. But it would spread with it a feeling of warmth. This island seemed to be oozing with this whole sugary sweet - and probably fake - kindness and open welcome. Well she could meet that. So she sang. And as she trailed off from that song, she took another small breath, put her hands over her chest and began her second song. Her Heartful Song.
After she gave a small bow, mostly so she could subtly check if there was anything in the container. She missed having a manager. And a proper stage in a sold out venue... But... she didn't miss being a puppet to Easter. So... there was that.
Pokemon! In the City!
Trying to get her bearings, Utau had been wandering the city when she heard and odd furritive noise from an alleyway. She wasn't really the type to turn and run. So she headed into the alleyway to check it out. She watched a small black and red cat pouncing on a flock of birds, scattering them. Weirdest looking birds ever. This whole place made Easter seem downright normal. She turned to leave then heard the cat moving again. Not running away, but jumping to a higher perch. Watching her. She couldn't help but smile. But it was out of reach and seemed content to stay that way.
Utau turned and left the ally. The cat, always staying too far out of reach to be grabbed, curiously followed. Of course, being a cat, it often had to stop for the occasional bath, interesting sound, or person who needed to be glared at.
Anyone encountering Utau in her wanderings would see the black cat following her casually, as she casually tried to not be obvious about glancing back to see if it was still there.
If they could see spirits/souls, are pokemon/animals, or are under the age of 4, they would also see the little angel and the little devil happily sitting On Utau's head, facing backwards and hear them giving running commentary on what the cat is doing.
